Final Table Tidbits

-Five of the eight players hail from Canada. Yes, Canada.

-The average chip stack is 647,500. That's currently 27 BBs or an M of 10.8.

-Sol Bergren holds over 27% of the chips in play.

Kings vs. Kings

Our first all-in-and-call situation of the day which happened moments ago resulted in a chop.

Darren Keyes opened the pot with a raise from middle position, making it 58,000 to go. Action then folded around the table to Rogelio Pardo in the big blind who kicked it up to 218,000. Keyes hesitated for no more than a minute before announcing all in. Pardo snap-called the bet and both players smiled when they saw each other's cards:

Pardo: {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs}
Keyes: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}

Though a chop in this situation is the overwhelming favorite, it wouldn't be poker without the mandatory sweat.

Surely Keyes' heartbeat sped up a few BPM as the board filled out {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts} by the turn, but the {A-Spades} on the river cemented a chop.

Updated Chip Counts

In seat order:

Amer Sulaiman - 618,000
Sol Bergren - 1,310,000
Patrick De Koster - 262,000
Francis-Nicolas Bouchard - 610,000
Rogelio Pardo - 498,000
Carlos Giron - 404,000
Eric Levesque - 810,000
Darren Keyes - 438,000

Giron Picking Up Chips

Carlos Giron called a raise made by Darren Keyes out of the big blind. Keyes was in early position. The flop came down {A-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {8-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Giron led for 55,000. Keyes made the call.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Giron fired 75,000. Keyes tank-folded, giving Giron the pot.

Patrick De Koster Eliminated in 8th Place ($13,818)

Patrick De Koster - 8th Place
Patrick De Koster - 8th Place
Patrick De Koster moved all in after action folded to him in middle position. It then folded to Eric Levesque in the big blind and he made the call, tossing over {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}. De Koster held {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades}.

The board ran out {9-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {J-Hearts} {K-Spades}, eliminating De Koster from the tournament.

Levesque ran over to his railbirds, cheering and high-fiving with them. He's now over one million chips.

Sol Searching

Sol Bergren has just picked up another pot to move to 1.68 million in chips, further extending his lead over the rest of the pack.

Darren Keyes opened the pot with a raise to 58,000 from the button and Bergren made the call from the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and both players checked, opting to see a free turn -- {3-Hearts}.

Bergren then led out with a 65,000 bet that was called by Keyes, sending the action to the river -- {7-Diamonds}.

Two quick checks prompted an early showdown where Bergren's {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs} was good enough to take down the pot.

Keyes never showed his hand and was left with just 224,000 in chips after the fact.

Levesque Putting the Pressure On

Francis-Nicolas Bouchard raised to 55,000 from the cutoff and Carlos Giron flatted out of the small blind. Eric Levesque was in the big blind and asked how much each player had left in their stacks. He then stood and announced, "I'm all in!"

Bouchard went into the tank while Levesque stood and stared him down. Then, Levesque sat back down and said, "You should fold that."

A few moments later, Bouchard did just that and folded. Giron folded as well. Levesque flipped over {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} and slid it right in front of Bouchard's stack.
