There's a Shorty Fire Burning

Roman Suarez was all in for about 180,000 before the flop with {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}, and Marco Caicedo was unfortunate enough to find {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} on the same hand.

After the chips went in, the dealer dealt a board of {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} {4-Spades} {3-Spades} {4-Clubs}. Caicedo actually had a chance to chop the pot on fourth street, but the river was the wrong shade of black.

Suarez is up to 390,000, and the trend of the short-stack double-ups continues.

Gil Morgensztern Eliminated in 19th Place ($7,300)

Gil Morgensztern was riding a very short stack, and he got his few chips all in preflop with {6-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}. Marco Caicedo doesn't exactly have a chip surplus himself, but he came along with the lowly {4-Clubs} {5-Hearts}, and the Battle of the Rags was a go!

There was drama from start to finish on a board running {Q-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}. In the end, Caicedo's two pair is good enough to drag the pot, sending Morgensztern out in 19th place in the process.

Oliver Rowe Eliminated in 18th Place ($7,300)

Oliver Rowe - 18th Place
Oliver Rowe - 18th Place
The details are a bit fuzzy as the action transpired quickly, but there's not really much you need to know.

Oliver Rowe got it in preflop with {9-Hearts} {9-Spades}, and he ran smack into Daniela de Lima Zapiello's {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}. There was no help on board for the underpair, and last year's fifth-place finisher has been knocked off in 18th place this time around. He'll take home significantly less than last time, but $7,300 is not terribly bad for three days of work.

The Shark Harpooned

Humberto Brenes and Marco Caceido began the hand virtually even in chips, and the two of them got it all in after a preflop raising war. Brenes showed up {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}, and he was in not-so-good shape against Caceido's {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}.

The board blanked off for The Shark: {5-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {7-Clubs} {A-Clubs}. Caceido takes that pot with his kings, and when the chips were counted down, Brenes was left with just a puny 15,000 in chump change.

Hey, Let's Play Poker

The longest ten minutes in the history of mankind have passed, and the players are back in their chairs. We've got about 20 minutes left in the current level.

Shuffle up and deal.

Brenes Double Up #1

It's going to be a long climb back from 14,000 for Humberto Brenes, but he's at least taken the first step.

Brenes got it in preflop with {Q-Hearts} {2-Hearts} against {7-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. His queen-high played on a board of {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {6-Clubs}, and he's back to about 40,000, but The Shark is still very much an endangered species right now.

Girls Rule!

In the cutoff seat, Cesar Mostafa made an opening raise to 29,000. Daniela de Lima Zapiello put in the call from the button, and the two of them went off to the flop.

It brought {5-Spades} {K-Clubs} {4-Clubs}, and Mostafa continued out with another 38,000 chips. Zapiello made a minimum raise to 76,000, and Mostafa quickly called. The {K-Hearts} paired the board on fourth street, and both players checked to the {4-Hearts} river. Seizing control once again, Mostafa fired out a closing bet of 125,000. After some debate, Zapiello made the call.

It was quite a fine call. Mostafa immediately mucked his cards, and Zapiello slammed over {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}, her ace-high good enough to drag that very sizable pot.

Zapiello - 700,000
Mostafa - 335,000
