Rodrigo Perez Eliminated in 31st Place ($2,840)

Nicholas Batt opened for 21,000 from early position and cleared the field all the way around to Rodrigo Perez in the small blind. He thought for a moment before moving all in for 360,000. The big blind got out of the way and Batt made the call.

Showdown

Batt{J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Perez{A-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Batt was a big favorite even after the {8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop gave Perez a pair. The {J-Diamonds} turn put an end to any sweat as Perez was left drawing dead, and after the {A-Clubs} was put out on the river for good measure, he made his exit from the tournament floor in 31st place.

Marcelo Bustamante Eliminated in 30th Place ($2,840)

On a flop of {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, Marcelo Bustamante moved all in for around 90,000 holding {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades} and was called by the {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} of Pedro Frankel. It was a bad spot for Bustamante, though the {5-Spades} turn gave him some added chop outs. Unfortunately for him, the {3-Spades} river was a blank and he became our 30th-place finisher.

Horno Takes a Hit

Javier Venegas raised from early position only to have Daniela Horno three-bet to 62,000 from the cutoff. The button and blinds got out of the way, Venegas made the call and the flop came down {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. It went check-check to the {7-Diamonds} turn, at which point Horno called a bet of 48,000 from Venegas.

The {3-Clubs} river saw Horno call another bet, this time 126,000, only to muck when Venegas rolled over {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a rivered set.

Showdown

Barrientos{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Sa{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Barrientos had woken up with the granddaddy of all hands at the right time, and Sa never stood much of a chance as the board ran out an uneventful {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. He exited in 29th place while Barrientos chipped up to 575K.

Jorge Barreto Eliminated in 28th Place ($3,070)

Action folded to Jorge Barreto in the small blind and he raised to 25,000, which Leonardo Olivares called from the big. When the flop fell {9-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}, Barreto led out for 30,000, Olivares moved all in, and Barreto called off for around 210,000.

Showdown

Barreto{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Olivares{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Olivares was way out in front and looking to dodge a ten or running queens, which is exactly what he did when the {2-Spades} hit the turn followed by the {A-Spades} on the river. Barreto was eliminated in 28th place and took hom $3,070 for his efforts.

Sebastian Rios Eliminated in 27th Place ($3,070)

Sebastian Rios
Sebastian Rios

Sebastian Rios moved all in under the gun for around 150,000 while Luis Montano moved all in over the top for 307,000 from the cutoff. Rene Manzano, who had both players covered, made the call from the big blind.

Showdown

Manzano{J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Rios{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Montano{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

Rios was in need of some major help, and the {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{A-Hearts} flop gave him a little hope to a gut-shot straight draw. Unfortunately for him, neither the {K-Diamonds} turn nor {K-Hearts} river completed it and he was dispatched in 27th place. Meanwhile, Montano more than doubled while Manzano was crippled.

Just before the level went up, Ricardo Gajdemski found himself all in preflop with {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} up against the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} of Waldermar Barrientos. Gajdemski desperately needed an ace, but it was not meant to be as the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Gajdemski was eliminated in 24th place while Barrientos closed in on the 800K mark.
