Man Down

Fabrizio Gonzalez - out
Fabrizio Gonzalez - out

Well, we've lost the first man we were tracking today. Fabrizio Gonzalez is missing from the room, and his chips are missing from his former seat.

We think it's fair to presume that Gonzalez has gone busto at some point during the first two levels.

"Good Morning!"

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

We just heard a familiar voice pipe up for the first time today.

"Good morning!" he said as he walked up onto the featured table stage with a broad smile at about 2:30 in the afternoon. It's Daniel Negreanu, and he's just taken his seat at a table full of relative unknowns. It was just seconds before Negreanu fired up the Twitter machine, too:

Pulling a @phil_hellmuth showing up in level 3 of LAPT slept off a hangover. Feels like a really smart move, I feel MUCH better

Good luck to Kid Poker today in São Paulo.

One for Gazes

Bill Gazes checked the {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop and the next player also checked. The third player bet 1,125 and Gazes called. The other player folded.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {K-Spades} land on the river. Gazes fired 1,350 and his opponent folded.

De Meulder Shoved On After Barreling

Two players checked the {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop before Team PokerStars Pro Matthias de Meulder bet 1,100. The next player called before the first two folded.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} and de Meulder stayed on the gas with a bet of 2,500. His opponent called.

The river was the {J-Hearts} and de Meulder fired 5,200. After a minute of tanking, his opponent raised all in for around 16,000. De Meulder folded and dropped below the starting stack.

Tough Tables

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Andre Akkari telling us how many other dangerous players are at his table
Andre Akkari telling us how many other dangerous players are at his table

We've broken at least one table already, and a few other players have been moved around for balancing. As a result, some tough tables have come together. It was the table that contained Andre Akkari and Elio Fox, and they've both found that the table break has made their lives no easier.

Fox moved just one table over to join Matthias De Meulder and seven other players we don't recognize. He has position on the Belgian.

Akkari had to trek all the way across the room to find his new table, and he'd not like what he saw once he arrived. Taking his seat in the nine hole, Akkari has direct position on Lisandro Gallo, but he's out of position against a fellow Team PokerStars Pro. Holland's Fatima Moreira de Melo is in the two seat.

Guillen Finds a Fold

Angel Guillen
Angel Guillen

Angel Guillen was the preflop raiser, and he continued out with another 950 chips on the {6-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. It was three-way action with an opponent on either side of Guillen, and they both matched his bet to see the turn card.

It was the {5-Diamonds}, and now the table checked to the gentleman with position in the hijack seat. He made a bet of 1,900, enough to fold the third player in the hand and send the decision back to Guillen. "Un azul?" he asked of his opponent, making sure he had just one blue T5,000 chip left. That was indeed the case as the gentleman was sitting with 6,050 after making his bet. Guillen promptly called, and the {A-Hearts} landed on the river. When Guillen checked again, his opponent put about half his remaining chips into the pot with a final bet of 3,000.

Guillen spent a long while in the tank, considering the call for a significant chunk of his own stack. After a couple long minutes, though, he surrendered with a bit of frustration showing on his face.

Mr. Opponent took the opportunity to keep things friendly. He flashed his {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}, showing Guillen his good fold and turning his frown back into a more neutral expression.

Clock Called On Nacho

Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

From the under-the-gun position, Team PokerStars Pro Nacho Barbero raised to 500. He was called by three players; one in middle position, one on the button and the big blind.

The flop produced the {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and action checked to Barbero. He bet 1,000 and only the button made the call to see the {4-Clubs} fall on the turn. Barbero checked, as did his opponent.

The {3-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Barbero checked. His opponent bet 2,100 and Barbero went into the tank for a few long minutes. After about the third minute of his tank, his opponent requested that the clock be placed on Barbero. It was and he had 60 seconds to make a decision before his hand was declared dead.

After about 45 seconds, Barbero called, but mucked when he saw his opponent table the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for top pair of kings.
