Sixteen Players Survive in the Hunt for £31,257; Arlie Shaban Nearly Bubbles

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Lex Live
Lex Live

Only sixteen players are left out of the original 889 entries that were made in the tournament. Kyle McCague is the chip leader after two days of play with 3,035,000. He is closely followed by Carl Von Dobeln (2,750,000) and Thomas Lewis (2,550,000). Jasper 'Oemtoeoemtoe' van der Veen is the last remaining Lex Veldhuis community member. He bagged 615,000 chips after a brutal day where almost every single community member was eliminated.

Others that made it through include Gareth Smith (2,460,000), Halil Gecaj (2,180,000), and Steve Berto (1,600,000). The players will continue tomorrow at 12 noon local time. The remaining 16 players are all guaranteed to take home at least £1,600. There are 38 minutes and 41 seconds remaining in the 25th level of the tournament, which has blinds of 25,000/50,000 and a big blind ante of 50,000.

Only three PokerStars Ambassadors started the day, but only one made it into the money. Mason 'Pyefacepoker' Pye, James Mackenzie, and Arlie Shaban all played, but only Shaban managed to sneak in a cash.

It was Hasan Gul who started the day as chip leader after he bagged 595,500 on the fourth starting day. Gul managed to get into the money but he wasn't able to make it to the second day.

Day 2 Action
The day started with 178 players remaining out of the 889 that showed up through eight different starting flights, starting from Friday, September 27th. Among those 178 are plenty of community members that tried their hardest during the starting days to make it to the second day. Unfortunately, there were only 107 places paid and it was a battle for the community to make it through to the money. Players who were eliminated before the money was reached include Nick 'Bizzo' Jenkins, Ben 'TheBenMartin98' Martin, Twitch streamer Henri 'Buehlero' Buehler, and PokerStars Ambassador Mackenzie of OP-Poker.

Mackenzie got his chips in the middle with no community cards on the table with ace-jack against five-four suited of community member Van der Veen. Van der Veen managed to river a straight flush to send Mackenzie to the rail only a few spots before the money was reached. Another PokerStars Ambassador, Shaban, was eliminated on the bubble. He was involved in a three-way all-in with pocket kings against pocket jacks of Roar Bonaunet and pocket sixes of Gareth Smith. Smith hit a set on the flop. Shaban and Bonaunet weren't able to catch back up and were both eliminated on the exact bubble. Shaban had the bigger stack and he secured a min-cash of £320.

The speed of play didn't really speed up after the bubble burst and the average stack dropped to a little over twenty big blinds. It is now back up to over 30 big blinds after the day had ended and the bust outs happened quicker and quicker. A couple of the players that were eliminated in the process were Peter 'Glaspeer' Glasbergen (88th - £391), Daniel 'Neryus' Moes (78th - £445), Rocco Blank (69th - £498), PokerStars Twitch & Ambassador Assistant Brandon Trong Nguyen (59th - £569), and Kevin 'Care_Teddy' van Veen (44th - £818) all were eliminated. All the way from Adelaide, Australia, was Damiano 'DAMMO_23' Aloi. Aloi busted out of the tournament in 38th place for £818.

One of the last players from the community still in was Glenn 'Letjal' Van Ingelghem. He was nursing a short stack for multiple levels already when he finally got his money in the middle in what turned out to be the last hand of the day. The player in the small blind jammed all in, covering Van Ingelghem, and the Belgian Veldhuis Moderator called with ace-queen. He was ahead against the ace-five of his opponent but he, unfortunately, wasn't able to hold on to the best hand when a five was dealt on the river.

Tom 'Predator410' Parsons Wins a Platinum Pass
During Lex Live 2 there was a scavenger hunt and visitors had to complete certain tasks to get stamps. If one had ten stamps you were eligible to win a special prize, but what that prize actually was? It turned out that 24 visitors had 10 or more stamps and they were put on a table in groups of eight. They would play two flips to determine two winners and the six players that survived got to play a timed tournament for a platinum pass.

Tom Parsons and his Platinum Pass

England's Tom Parsons, in the community known as 'Predator410', was the lucky one to take home the special prize and he is on his way to Barcelona for the 2020 PSPC thanks to Veldhuis and his event in London.

The tournament will continue on October 6th, noon local time. PokerNews will be on site to deliver delayed coverage so the stream won't be spoilered.

Damiano Aloi
Damiano Aloi

Damiano 'DAMMO_23' Aloi is eliminated from the Main Event after he lost a hand about 30-minutes ago. The hand was just shown on the live stream and it turned out Aloi jammed {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} into the {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} of big blind Stephen O'Keeffe.

The board ran out {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and the Aussie has been eliminated.

There are two community members standing in the form of Jasper 'Oemtoeoemtoe' van der Veen and Glenn 'Letjal' Van Ingelghem.

Berto Eliminates Van Veen in Chip Lead Pot

Level 22 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Kevin van Veen continued his preflop aggression with a bet of 60,000. Steve Berto raised to 300,000 and van Veen moved all in. He was very quickly called and Van Veen wasn't happy when he was up against {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} with {k-}{q-}.

Van Veen got a sweat on the {9-Diamonds} turn, but the {8-Clubs} river eliminated Van Veen while Berto takes over the chip lead in the tournament.

Roar Bonaunet and Arlie Shaban Eliminated on the Bubble

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Arlie Shaban
Arlie Shaban

Roar Bonaunet and Arlie Shaban were both all in at risk in a three-way all in against Gareth Smith. Smith had the worst hand with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} while Shaban had the best hand with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and was looking to score more than a double while eliminating Bonaunet with {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

The flop was {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} and a loud laugh from 'Spraggy' was heard in the tournament area. The {7-Clubs} turn brought opportunities for a three-way chop, but the {5-Diamonds} ended it all for Bonaunet and Shaban.

Shaban had the bigger stack so he min cashes in 107th for £320.

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ben Martin
Ben Martin

Ben 'TheBenMartin98' Martin was just eliminated from the tournament after being on a short stack since the start of the day. He was down to just nine big blinds in the small blind and he wanted to isolate on a smaller shove. The player in the big blind called with pocket jacks and Martin his ace-jack was in bad shape. The smallest stack in the hand had pocket sixes.

There was no help for Martin and he was eliminated from the tournament before the money was reached.

Tom 'Predator410' Parsons Wins Platinum Pass!

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Tom Parsons
Tom Parsons

Tom 'Predator410' Parsons was one of the six players that won a flip to be entered in the Platinum Pass sit and go. Lex Live visitors were given a scavenger hunt-esque card with tasks on it. If you managed to complete ten out of fourteen tasks you were given a special stamp that entered you in a flip.

Twenty-four players got ten stamps or more and Parsons was one of the lucky ones. He then won a quick sit and go that was streamed live to secure a Platinum Pass for the 2020 PSPC in Barcelona.

Parsons goes under the name of 'Predator410' and streams on Twitch himself. The journey is about to start for him as he is now on his way to Barcelona!

Day 2 of Lex Live Starts at 1 p.m., £31,257 for First

Chris Moneymaker, James Mackenzie, Arlie Shaban, and Tom Hayward
Chris Moneymaker, James Mackenzie, Arlie Shaban, and Tom Hayward

All starting flights are done in the £230 Lex Live Main Event in Aspers Casino and the tournament attracted 889 entries. Only 182 players bagged, but four of them already had a chip stack in the tournament and had to forfeit the smallest stack. That means that 178 players will return for Day 2. The tournament staff confirmed that 107 players will be paid today and the winner will walk away with £31,257. The min-cash will be worth £320.

Hasan Gul will start the day as chip leader after he bagged 595,500 on Day 1d. No one was able to catch up on him in the flights that followed and Gul will sit on top. Patrick Winterbottom came to Lex Live after he won a package in the Streamer Showdown promotion. He won a package to the event, but also a one-in-six shot of winning a Platinum Pass by playing a special sit and go. He ended up winning the sit and go, but jumped straight into the Main Event in Aspers Casino. He bagged 52,500 on one of the two final flights and is one of the shorter stacks at the start with just over ten big blinds.

Other notable names from the Lex Veldhuis community that will start on Day 2 include Kevin 'Care_Teddy' van Veen (469,000), Glenn 'Letjal' Van Ingelghem (249,000), Peter 'Glaspeer' Glasbergen (245,000), Stefan Griesbeck (243,000), Daniel 'Neryus' Moes (200,500), and Damiano 'DAMMO_23' Aloi (167,500). Plenty more made it through.

Three PokerStars Ambassadors will start the day. James Mackenzie (170,500), Mason Pye, (146,000), and Arlie Shaban (135,500) will start Day 2 today with the hopes of becoming the next Lex Live champion.

The plan for today is to play down to either the final sixteen or the final table. The tournament staff will let them play a maximum of ten hours with two hours of breaks. Blinds will start at 2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante and players will be under a 30-second shot clock. They will have multiple time extensions that give them an extra 30 seconds.

Make sure to keep an eye on PokerNews for updates throughout the day.
