Welcome to Day 2

Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Vladimir Troyanovskiy

In 40 minutes, Day 2 of the $200,000 guaranteed Main Event of the Live Events International and Noah's Poker poker festival on the beautiful island of Cyprus will start. There's still a lot of players in contention, a total of 131 players will start their quest for gold at 1 p.m. local time. There can even be more players joining them, as entering and re entering is possible for the first three levels.

Leading the charge is Bulgarian player Nedelcho Karakolev, who brings 184,200 (184 big blinds) to the table when play starts. Viacheslav Igin (171,500) and EPT Vienna winner Oleksii Khoroshenin (167,400) follow not too far behind.

There are more familiar faces in the field today. Dutchman Jorn Walthaus is still in contention, Russian Super High Roller Vladimir Troyanovskiy still has chips, and Sergey Bagirov is in the field.

PokerNews will bring you coverage from start to finish, though it's not confirmed yet how many 60 minute levels the tournament will play today. The plan is to play either 9 or 10 levels, but it depends on the pace of eliminations when play actually finishes tonight.

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The dealer button starts in seat 8, shuffle up and deal! The total amount of entries is 291 at the moment, of which 137 remain at the moment. Registration is still open for the first three levels.

Jacks Versus King Queen

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Toufic Saliba opened for 3,500 under the gun, and Nurlan Boobekov made the call from the cutoff. Mustafa Biz, one of the bigger stacks in the room, made it 13,500 and just Saliba called, Boobekov folded.

The action was rapid as most moves were instant. Both players checked the {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and Saliba quickly bet 17,000 once the {10-Spades} hit the turn. Biz made the call instantly.

The {3-Clubs} fell on the river and Saliba now bet a mere 7,000. Again Biz called instantlym but his {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} proved no good. Saliba tabled {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and dragged in the chips.

Grigorii Rodin Eliminated

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Rodin Gregorii
Rodin Gregorii

Grigorii Rodin has just been eliminated from the tournament. He pushed all in fro his remaining 11,000, and was met by a push from Sergey Frolov for just a little more. Andrey Golubev made the call to put both players at risk.

Sergey Frolov{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Grigorii Rodin{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Andrey Golubev{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board didn't improve anyone, and Frolov neirly tripled up. Golubev lost a little bit, and Rodin made his exit.

Rodin, who won two events this festival, can still re enter to strife for his third win this week.

Afanasenka Almost Out

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Charalami Charalambos and Roman Afanasenka got their chips in the middle on {K-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}. Charalami had 21,100, Afanasenka had him just covered with 21,700.

Afanasenka: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Charalami: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The spades wouldn't come out, but the {10-Hearts} on the turn hurt just as much. The {5-Hearts} on the river wasn't the one card Afanasenka was looking for, and he had to continue his tournament with just 600 in chips.
