It is time for the highly anticipated Inaugural Texas State $1 Million GTD Main Event to get underway. Action begins today at 11 a.m. local time.
This tournament is the first 1 million guarantee in the state of Texas and it is expected to be quite the event, with appearances from several big names in poker, including Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer and Matt Berkey.
The buy in for each entry is $1,300, which is good for a $50,000 stack. Levels are 40 minutes in length and registration and re-entry is allowed until the start of Level 13, so players will be allowed to enter until roughly 8:30 p.m. local time on Day 1. There will be a 45-minute dinner break following Level 9.
Today is Day 1a, the first of five opening days. Play will go until 12% of the field remains. The remaining 12% from each starting flight will return for Day 2 on Sunday, May 2.
