Smith Gets Shove Past Main Event Champ

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

2020 WSOP.com domestic main event champion Joseph Hebert was spotted on the felt and had already run up a pretty nice stack.

He was involved in a hand with Kirk Smith that was on the turn with the board reading {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Hebert bet 7,500, Smith raised it up to 20,000 and Hebert called the raise.

The river came the {9-Hearts}. Smith jammed all in for his remaining 25,400. Hebert had roughly 133,000 behind and thought it out for a while. He looked up at the ceiling and at his opponent to assess the hand before folding after about a minute to send the pot over to Smith.

Rivera on the River

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Hand details retold to PokerNews.

An initial raiser made it 1,600 preflop. Gabriel Abusada three-bet it to 7,500. Richard Rivera four-bet to 17,000. The initial raiser folded and Abusada five-bet all in for about 90,000.

Rivera thought for a few moments before calling.

Abusada had {a-}{a-} against {k-}{k-} of Rivera.

The flop looked good for Abusada as it came {a-}{10-}{x-}. The turn provided Rivera with some hope as a {j-} came off. And the river brought home the unlikely straight for Rivera as the {q-} came off to crack the set of aces of Abusada for a huge pot.

Vazquez Gets Paid With Nut Flush

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was on the river with the board displayed to read {8-Spades}{9-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. It was a three-way pot and Guillermo Vazquez bet 22,000 into two opponents, leaving himself with about 11,000 behind.

Water Beltran thought for a bit before folding her hand.

The decision was then on Tiago Aguiar who took a few moments before calling.

Vazquez turned over one card at a time the {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for the nut flush. Aguiar mucked, shaking his head a bit annoyed at how Vazquez had showed the nut flush hand.
