Mohamed Ali Houssam Bubbles

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Mohamed Ali Houssam
Mohamed Ali Houssam

Saverio Cocozza raised to 12,500 and Michael van der Ghinst in the cutoff as well as Mohamed Ali Houssam in the small blind called. On the flop {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} the fireworks started and Houssam got his stack via check-raise in with Cocozza looking him up, hand for hand was not even underway yet.

Houssam: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Cocozza: {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The 2011 WPT Marrakech Main Event champion was the player at risk for around 100,000 chips and needed to pair the board in order to stay in the tournament. However, the {9-Diamonds} turn and {7-Spades} river both blanked and the bubble burst before hand-for-hand mode had begun.

Joaquin's Aces; Abida's Straight

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Fahd had doubled up on his last table and then three-bet, but Abdenbi Abida was not willing to let go of his {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} after spiking an open ender. The turn came on the straight and Fahd didn't lost many more chips.

Joaquin three-bet shoved his stack of 60,000 and got a fold to almost cry before turning over his {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}.

Tondeur Enforces Fold

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Riccardo Giacalone opened to 13,000 and Roger Tondeur moved all in from two seats over for what looked like 90,000. Giacalone eventually folded the {A-Diamonds} and while Tondeur raked in the pot, he was asked if he had ace-queen.

Tondeur shook his head and then Giacalone continued with a better than ace-deuce though?" to which Tondeur just smiled.

Pinho Doubles

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The ace-queen of Riccardo Giacalone were already in the muck with a board of {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{7-Hearts} being spread in front of the dealer. Henrique Oliveira de Sousa Pinho had the winning {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} still tabled and raked in a big double to boost his stack above average.

Fahd Gets Shown Worse Hand

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Fahd raised to 23,000 from early position and the action folded to Ali Mechiche in the small blind. He made a big raise to 108,000 for most of his chips and Fahd gave it some table talk, a bit more consideration and then mucked pocket tens. Mechiche grinned and flashed the {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}!

Giacalone First Out in the Money

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Riccardo Giacalone
Riccardo Giacalone

One Portuguese just doubled up through Riccardo Giacalone, the other finished the job. Giacalone's remaining 10 big blinds didn't last long and went into the middle with {K-}{Q-}. Andre Miquel Ramalho Fonseca called from one seat over with {A-}{10-} and there was no help on the board, it even provided an ace on the river.

Giacalone takes home a min-cash of 18,000 Dirhams.

Pinho Shoves Again

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Israel Amoyal had doubled up through Henrique Oliveira de Sousa Pinho and the latter then faced a raise to 15,000 by Fadhil Farag. The Portuguese quickly moved forward his two stacks of T-5,000 chips and Farag folded as quickly.

Pinho Versus Fonseca

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

There are only two players from Portugal left in the tournament and they are on the same table. Andre Miquel Ramalho Fonseca had been cruising through the day so far, always above average, and he is still right there but just lost a big chunk to Henrique Oliveira de Sousa Pinho.

Picking up the action on the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} turn with around 70,000 in the pot, Fonseca check-called a bet worth 45,000 out of the big blind and checked again the {6-Hearts} river. Pinho bet 80,000 and was paid off after plenty of consideration to flip over {4-Spades}{3-Spades} for the straight to scoop a big pot.
