Papineau Thriving

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Mathieu Papineau only needed two barrels worth 18,000 on the {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop and 29,000 on the {Q-Diamonds} turn to enforce a fold from table neighbor Ali Mechiche. Papineau is the first player above half a million in chips while Arthur Conan just dropped some to Fadhil Farag.

Conan fired a continuation bet worth 22,000 on the {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} flop and then folded once Farag check-raised to 65,000.

Action on Table 32

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Joaquin was all in for 12 big blinds with the {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and [Removed:215] reshoved with the {a-Clubs}{K-Clubs} to isolate successfully. The board ran out {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} and the Spaniard doubled in fortunate fashion.

Then, there was another big pot going on between Mathieu Biague and Anas Tadini. It appeared to have been a three-bet preflop and Biague led out of the blinds on the flop {Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Tadini raised to 95,000 and Biague then shoved for 173,000 to enforce a fold. Tadini was shown the {7-Clubs}.

Farag At It Again

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Joining the action on the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades} turn, Henrique Oliveira de Sousa Pinho led for 25,000 out of the small blind and Fadhil Farag then raised to 80,000 from the button to scoop another pot. Pinho hasn't lost many chips though after picking up plenty of smaller pots with his now bigger stack.

If one expected to see a flurry of eliminations after reaching the money, level 18 has been the exact opposite thus far.

Conan Busts to Fonseca

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Arthur Conan
Arthur Conan

Andre Miquel Ramalho Fonseca raised to 13,000 from under the gun and Arthur Conan defended his big blind to see a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. The young Frenchman check-raised all in for around 80,000 chips and Fonseca quickly called after having made a continuation bet worth 15,000.

Conan: {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Fonseca: {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Both the {4-Spades} turn and {7-Hearts} river blanked and Conan headed to the rail in 26th place.

Supiot Eliminated

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jean Pierre Supiot
Jean Pierre Supiot

Jean Pierre Supiot had lost a bigger pot with pocket queens earlier and then shoved for his last 41,000 from middle position. Michael van der Ghinst looked him up from the small blind and it was a flip.

Supiot: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
van der Ghinst: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop improved van der Ghinst to a set, leaving Supiot to one of the four remaining jacks only to stay in. It was all over after the {Q-Diamonds} turn and the {5-Hearts} river was a mere formality.

Peter Reil Eliminated in 24th Place (20,000 Dirhams)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Peter Reil
Peter Reil

Just before the end of the level, Ekrem Sanioglu raised to 13,000 and Pieyre Maggi called from one seat over. The action folded to Peter Reil in the small blind and he shoved for 120,000. Sanoiglu reshoved to isolate successfully and Reil flipped for his tournament life.

Reil: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Sanioglu: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} flop made things even more scary for Reil, now also facing the flush draw on top. The {K-Clubs} turn left him drawing very thin and the {J-Clubs} river sent Reil to the rail in 24th place for 20,000 Dirhams.

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Michael van der Ghinst opened to 19,000 from early position and Fahd then squeezed to 59,000 out of the cutoff. Joaquin shoved for 106,000 and van der Ghinst folded, Fahd called it off.

Joaquin: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Fahd: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

After a board of {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Spades}, the Spaniard doubled and now has more chips than Fahd once again.
