Phu Truong Doubles Through [Removed:432]

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Phu Truong in Action

Phu Truong bet 40,000 into around 70,000 on a {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Spades} board, and Hosseine El Otmani raised all in for 120,000. Truong folded {j-}{10-} face up and El Otmani took a timely boost to hist stack.

In the very next hand [Removed:432] raised to 20,000 under the gun and Truong three-bet all in for 89,000. It folded back around to [Removed:433] who called.

[Removed:433]: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Truong: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, but the {10-Diamonds} on the turn turned a few heads as it gave Truong a flush draw. The river was the {9-Diamonds} completely Truong's flush, and [Removed:433] slammed his hand against the table in apparent frustration as he handed over his chips to his opponent.

Christophe Chaudey Eliminated by Fadhil Farag; Bubble Bursts

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Christophe Chaudey Eliminated in 11th Place
Christophe Chaudey Eliminated in 11th Place

Fadhil Farag raised to 16,000 from early position and Christophe Chaudey three-bet all in for 51,000. The remaining players at the table folded, and Farag called.

Chaudey: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Farag: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The flop seemed an unfavourable one for Chaudey in his fight for survival as it came {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, but it did give him a gutshot straight draw. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and the river the {6-Clubs} giving Farag a full house and eliminating Chaudey on the bubble. The remaining 11 players are all guaranteed 30,300 Dirham (€2,815).

Mathieu Selides Eliminated by [Removed:432]

Mathieu Selides raised to 13,000 from the button and got two callers: [Removed:432] in the small blind, and Houssine El Otmani in the big blind.

The board came {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. It checked to Selides who continued for 20,000. [Removed:433] called and El Otmani folded. The turn was the {10-Spades}. [Removed:433] checked and Selides fired again for 40,000.

[Removed:433] thought before moving all in for roughly 210,000. The pairr had around the same stack but Selides eventually called showing {j-}{9-}. [Removed:433] showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} which left his opponent drawing dead, and he had already put on his jacket before the meaningless {3-Clubs} came on the river.

There were 92 entrants to the Marrakech Poker Open High Roller including 21 re-entries, and there are currently 13 remaining. 32 started the day, in a field which included British pros Ludovic Geilich and Kuljinder Sidhu. November Niner Pierre Neuville was also present with an above average stack, but he would bust early on when his {a-}{a-} clashed with his opponent's {6-}{4-} on a {7-}{6-}{4-}{4-}{k-} board, with the Belgian coming off second best.

11 players will make the money in the tournament, with a min-cash worth 30,300 Dirhams (€2,815). However, each player will be eyeing up the first prize of 300,000 Dirhams (€27,878), the trophy, and the title of High Roller Champion.

Still in the mix is 2016 WSOP International Circuit winner Mathieu Selides, as well as his compatriot Paul Guichard and Arthur Conan. There are also home names still in the mix, including Abdelhadi Kondah and Houssine El Otmani.
