Who Will Be Crowned As 2022 Marrakech PokerOpen Main Event Champion?

Marrakech Poker Open
Marrakech Poker Open

The final Day of the Marrakech Poker Open Main Event is here and a winner will be crowned tonight. The 12 remaining players are guaranteed to take at least DH 63,000 (€6,300) home, with them but they will all have their sights set on that first prize of DH 1,000,000 (€100,000) and the coveted trophee.

The player who is closest to grabbing those prizes right now is Montevil21 with 2,735,000 for 109 big blinds, after having already been overall chipleader at the end of Day 1. Second in chips, Ahmed Bourma has 2,170,000, meaning 87 big blinds to play with today. [Removed:445] sits in third with 1,715,000 (69 big blinds).

Well-known players left in this field are WSOP champion Jean-Luc Adam (400,000) and Indian player Rakesh Lalwani, who reached the final table this week in the Opened and High Roller and will try to score the biggest cash of his career. Both are sporting below average stacks for now but with 15 and 30 big blinds each, there's room to play.

The tournament will be restarting at 2 p.m local time on Level 22 with a small blind of 20,000, a big blind of 25,000 and a running ante of 25,000. Levels will continue with 60 minutes each and play will continue until the winner is crowned.

PokerNews will be here to provide you with all the trials and tribulations of the MPO Main Event in Casino Marrakech.

Kaddeourin Doubles Through Ait Chaib

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In a blind versus blind situation, Mohamed Ait Chaib shoved to Mounim Kaddouri who called all in for 355,000.

Mounim Kaddouri: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Mohamed Ait Chaib: {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

It was a typical flip situation and the board brought {6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades} to give a set to Kaddouri while Ait Chaib was down to 90,000 chips left.

Jean-Luc Adam shoved under the gun for 330,000 and Rakesh Lalwani reshoved. Muhammed Hakim called also all in in the blinds for a stack worth 650,000 and the three players tabled their cards:

Jean-Luc Adam: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Rakesh Lalwani: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Muhammed Hakim: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Hakim was in great shape to double up and bust Adam, which he did after the board revealed {q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, sending the WSOP champion out in 12th place.
