Johan Verhagen three-bet a raise from 1,600 to 3,600 and the initial raiser called to see a flop of getting checked through. On the turn, the opponent of Verhagen called a bet worth 6,000 and then folded the river when Verhagen used the power of chips.
One hand later, Verhagen raised to 1,200 and called a raise by Richard Milne to 3,300 in the small blind. On the flop, Milne continued for 4,200 and was called before making it 8,000 to go on the turn. Again Verhagen called and the two of them then checked the river. Milne's had a kicker problem, as Verhagen had him beat with and the Scotsman sighed with a big smile on the face. "Nobody believes me."
On the heads-up flop of , David Boyaciyan bet 3,000 and his opponent Tony then min-raised to 6,000. Boyaciyan moved all in and Tony quickly called with for two pair. Boyaciyan had a big draw with the but the turn and river changed nothing on the outcome. The flush of Boyaciyan ended up second-best, as Tony had completed a full house to double up for 27,625.
Only one hand later, a player moved all in for 17,325 and Tony reshoved with the . The player at risk held and the board bricked to hand over an immediate setback to Tony.
Day 1a will finish with the end of level nine and that means just one more level is scheduled for tonight before everyone gets to bag and tag. According to the screens, exactly half of the field has been eliminated thus far with 50 out of 100 participants remaining.
