Louis Salter was first to act and raised to 450. In the cutoff, Arne Coulier called. Salter fired 650 on and Coulier called. Salter checked the on the turn and Coulier bet 1,150. Salter thought about it for a bit before he called.
The on the river saw Salter check again. Coulier bet 2,675 and Salter called after some consideration.
"Kings" Coulier said confident before showing . Salter mucked.
Brummelhuis and Salter talked a bit after the hand, with Coulier saying he was pretty confident he wanted a call on the river. "A raise would've been nasty, though."

We missed it, but one of our colleasgues told us the details of the first bust out of the day.
Noah Boeken, who won this event back in 2013, raised to 400 and Hans Bosman called in position. From the cutoff, Floris van der Ven, a well known Dutch poker pro specialized in cash games, squeezed to 1,500. Boeken was the only caller, Bosman folded.
Boeken check-called a bet of 1,200 on before the hit the turn. Boeken checked again and Van der Ven bet 4,000. Boeken moved all in, putting Van der Ven to the test for his 16,000 stack. Van der Ven called.

The river did nothing for Van der Ven and he was the first to hit the rail here in Amsterdam. He still has the option to buy back in today, or take some rest and try again on Day 1b.
Ben Heath has been eliminated, the second player to bust today and the second player to hand his stack to Ole Schemion who was once again responsible.
Schemion and Heath got it in with (Schemion) versus (Heath). The board did not bring Heath enough help and he departed in 7th place. Six players remain with Schemion in the lead.
From middle position, Raúl Van Boxtel open raised to 750 and Joris Ruys on the button was the sole caller.
The flop came and Van Boxtel followed his pre-flop raise up with a bet of 750. Ruys raised to 2,300 and Van Boxtel shoved for about 13,000. Ruys called.

Luuk Gieles was seen sitting with a stack worth double what all players started the day with. Upon being asked how that came to be, he smirked "Do I have to tell you?"
Gieles explained he had opened with and was three-bet by a player on his left. Gieles called and flopped the nuts on . Gieles check-raised the 1,300-continuation bet to 3,800 and his opponent called.
The on the turn made Gieles bet 6,500 and his opponent shoved for 21,000. Gieles called and had his opponent with drawing dead. The river was of no importance and Gieles doubled his stack while his opponent hit the rail.
Pascal van Doorn, with as big a smile as ever, walked past the media desk and told us he had already doubled his stack.
A player in early position opened and another player, according to Van Doorn one that was already agitated after having had to fold to a three-bet the prior two hands, three-bet. Van Doorn cold-called from the small blind holding and the initial-raiser called as well.
The flop came and Van Doorn and the initial player both checked. The player with the lead bet 1,500. Van Doorn check-raised to 3,500 and the initial-raiser tanked long and hard before folding.
"Fuck this!" said Van Doorn's opponent before shoving all in.
Van Doorn called with top set and turned out to be up against . Blanks on the turn and river resulted in an angry gentleman heading to the rail while Van Doorn doubled his stack.
