€25,500 Super High Roller

Day 1 Started

The €25,500 Super High Roller is Set to Start at 2 P.M.

Two years ago in 2016, the Master Classics of Poker celebrated their 27th anniversary. The tournaments series did that with a big schedule and, for the first time ever in the Netherlands, a €25,500 Super High Roller.

The first edition in 2016 attracted a total of 13 entries. The one and only Ole Schemion managed to take down the tournament for €160,875. Frank Williams got second (€95,525), and Charlie Carrell ended up taking home the third place prize (€64,350). Other players that competed that year but didn’t end up on the podium and in the money include Steve O’Dwyer, Bryn Kenney, Govert Metaal, and Pierre Neuville.

The tournament didn’t run in 2017 with too few people interested in playing the tournament. The tournament today is scheduled to take off at 2 p.m. local time, but that might be subject to change. Joris Ruijs has shown interest in playing the tournament and Patrik Antonius announced on Facebook that he was going to play the tournament. Who knows what Super High Rollers might still show up in the beautiful Holland Casino Amsterdam.

They are scheduled to play 60-minute levels and they will play eight-handed. It is an unlimited reentry tournament and the registration period is open until the start of Day 2. All the tournaments at the Master Classics of Poker are played with the big blind ante and this tournament is no exception. All players will start with 30,000 in chips and the first level of the tournament is 100/100 without an ante. The tournament has the same structure as the Main Event at the Master Classics of Poker.

Follow all the action on PokerNews as we will provide updates throughout the day.

Steve O’Dwyer raised in the first hand to 300 and Stefan Wolzak defended his big blind.

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and both checked. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and Wolzak lead out with a bet of 1,000 to take down the pot.

Wolzak Takes Down Three-Bet Pot

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised from the button to 300 and big blind Stefan Wolzak three-bet to 1,700. O'Dwyer called to see the flop.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{2-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {A-Hearts} turn. Wolzak made a delayed continuation-bet of 1,700 on the turn and O'Dwyer called again.

The {5-Hearts} river completed the board and Wolzak put in another bet. He pushed 4,100 over the line this time and O'Dwyer folded his hand.
