Maugini Wins Three Bet Pot

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Vittorio Maugini raised to 125,000 from the hijack. Action folded around to Ercan Hasan who three bet to 300,000 from the small blind. Maugini made the call.

The flop came {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Hasan continued for 150,000. Maugini called.

The {9-Diamonds} was the turn and Hasan slowed down by checking. Maugini didn't feel like giving Hasan a free card and bet 250,000 which got the fold from Hasan.

Enselme Gets River Value with Pocket Aces

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Arnaud Enselme
Arnaud Enselme

Arnaud Enselme opened from the cutoff to 125,000 and Vittorio Maugini called from the small blind.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and both players were more than happy to tap the table.

The {q-Diamonds} turn was still not enough to get any action from either player but on the {2-Spades} river, Maugini put in a bet of 125,000 and Enselme instantly flicked in a chip.

Maugini showed {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} but it was no good as the Frenchman had {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and took his stack to over two-and-a-half million.

Nanos Doubles Up Without Seeing a Flop

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Despite being down to five big blinds, Konstantinos Nanos has managed to double up without seeing a flop.

He shoved his remaining 310,000 chips from early position and could not get a caller, even with deep-stacked Arnaud Enselme in the big blind.

Nanos would go all in again the very next hand, which also folded around, giving him a total of 610,000.

The Greek was under the gun the next hand and grabbed his chips, pretending to move them in again before folding, which garnered a nice laugh from everyone at the table.

Vittorio Maugini raised to 120,000 from the hijack before Day 1a chip leader Vladislav Fedoseev moved all in from the small blind for 680,000.

Maugini asked for a count before he made the call.

Vladislav Fedoseev: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Vittorio Maugini: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Fedoseev didn't look happy to be called and was behind Maugini's ace-jack. The flop had Fedoseev drawing thin as it came {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. The turn ensured the Russians elimination as it came the {4-Hearts} which left Fedoseev drawing dead. The river was the {j-Diamonds} which sent Fedoseev to the payout desk as he was eliminated in 9th place for $5,000.
