Markov Gets Paid with Trips

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Konstantinos Nanos opened for 6,500 from the small blind and Anton Markov called from the big blind.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Nanos continued for 5,000. Markov called.

On the {9-Hearts} turn, Nanos fired again for 5,000. Markov raised to 15,000 and Nanos called rather quickly.

The river brought the {6-Clubs} and Markov put in a bet of 25,000, leaving himself with around 38,000 behind. Nanos spent nearly a minute in the tank before emerging with a call.

Markov turned over {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for trip sevens and Nanos held onto his cards for a long time until the dealer told him to relinquish them.

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

There was around 50,000 chips in the middle with the board complete {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Veselin Petrov was under the gun against Ismail Kalkan in the big blind.

Kalkan checked to Petrov who bet 34,000. Kalkan said "I don't know why I feel like you have ace-king" while he was in the tank. Kalkan eventually made the call but was no good as Petrov revealed {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for trips. Kalkan showed {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a bluff catcher as the chips went to Petrov.

Dimitrios Farmakoulis opened for 7,000 from the hijack and Ismail Kalkan called from the cutoff as well as the small blind and Furkan Beg in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and action checked around. The turn was the {5-Spades} and it was certainly an action card. Players checked to Kalkan in the cutoff who put in a pot-sized bet of 31,000. While the small blind called, Beg called and Farmakoulis deliberated for nearly a minute before going all in for 82,000. Kalkan snap-called while beg sat there in agony, wondering what to do. The floor was eventually called and Beg folded {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} face up.

Dimitrios Farmakoulis: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Ismail Kalkan: {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Kalkan was in prime position to eliminate Farmakoulis and take down a massive pot but the Greek would be spared as the {4-Diamonds} arrived on the river, resulting in a chopped pot.
