Evgenii Ushakov
Evgenii Ushakov

The third of five flights has officially ended in Event #1: $1,100 Luxon Pay Mystery Bounty at Mediterranean Poker Party from the beautiful Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Casino after 17 levels of play.

55 players managed to survive the starting field of 369 that took to the tables in Northern Cyprus for their chance at a massive first-place prize. The current players will take their stacks to Day 2 which continues Saturday, with two more Day 1 flights wrapping up tonight. Registration has officially closed in Day 1d, reaching a total of 397 entries, while registration remains open in the fifth and final flight for those who want to take another shot at the $1,000,000 guarantee.

When the day wrapped up, it was Evgenii Ushakov who bagged the chiplead with an impressive stack of 3,000,000. Evgenii peaked at close to 3,400,000 chips but took a hit when his set of eights lost to the straight of Andrei Konopelko.

There were plenty of notables in the field, but not all were fortunate to survive the day including Yury Bochkarev, Ludovic Periaux, and Jessica Teusl who fell hit the rail with only a couple of levels remaining as her ace-king couldn’t hold against the ten-nine suited of Semen Kravets.

The current prize pool has already surpassed the €1,000,000 guarantee, standing at €1,031,000 but expect that to increase as the final flight wraps up.

Day 2 starts at 12:00 p.m. local time tomorrow, and all players will be given a Mystery Bounty token at the beginning of the day.

As always, stay tuned to PokerNews for continued coverage of this €1,100 Luxon Pay Mystery Bounty here at the Mediterranean Poker Party.

Andrei Konopelko bet 75,000 on the J64 flop, and Evgenii Ushakov made the call.

When the 8 hit the turn, Konopelko continued for 225,000, and Ushakov matched the bet.

When the Q landed on the river, Konopelko tossed in a bet of 550,000, and it didn't take long for Ushakov to announce a call. Konopelko tabled 109, backing into a straight, and Ushakov sighed as he flashed his 88.

Two in a Row for Teusl

Level 12 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Jessica Teusl

Mikhail Zavoloka opened 30,000 in early position before Jessica Teusl jammed for about 325,000 next to act. The action quickly folded back to Zavoloka and he let it go.

The following hand, Teusl opened to 30,000, and Evgenii Mitiushov jammed for 61,000 from the cutoff. Teusl made the call.

Evgenii Mitiushov: A3
Jessica Teusl: Q10

Mitiushov was ahead but not for long as the 1086 flop hit the felt, giving Teusl a pair of tens. The 5 turn and 4 river were no help as he exited the table, sending another pot toward Teusl.

Udalsov Coolers Skhirtladze

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Denis Udalsov
Denis Udalsov

Denis Udalsov raised 5,000 in early position, and Tamazi Skhirtladze three-bet 16,500 next to act. The action folded back around to Udalsov who put in another raise to 65,000. Skhirtladze thought about it for a few moments before shoving the rest of his stack of about 180,000 across the line and Udalsov snap-called.

Tamazi Skhirtladze: KK All in
Denis Udalsov: AA

It was the ultimate preflop cooler and the A72 flop left Skhirtladze drawing nearly dead. The 6 turn sealed his fate as he walked away from the table, and the 9 river was just a formality.
