Sokolovsky Takes Out Liperis and Takes Chip Lead
Level 6
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
With around 50,000 in the middle on the flop of 6♦4♣3♣, Yiannis Liperis moved all in for 66,000 from the button. Alexander Sokolovsky from under the gun made the call.
Yiannis Liperis: A♣2♣
Alexander Sokolovsky Q♠Q♦
Sokolovsky was ahead with a pair of ladies, but Liperis had plenty of outs with one overcard, gut-shot straight, flush and steel wheel draws. Unfortunately the board bricked out for the Cypriot as the 9♥4♥ completed the runout and Sokolovsky shot to the top of the chip rankings.
