Smith Sticks Around

Level 1 : 200/400, 400 ante

Kamal Bejjani opened the cutoff to 800 and got called in one spot when Mark Smith defended his big blind.

The 9810 flop landed and Smith check-called a pot-sized bet of 1,600 from Bejjani on their way to a 10 turn.

Smith checked and Bejjani put out the same bet of 1,600. Smith called again and the Q rolled off on the river.

Smith checked for the last time and Bejjani took a moment and then checked back. Smith tabled Q6 for a flopped gutter that rivered top pair. Bejjani mucked and Smith dragged the pot.

Merit Poker Gangster Series

The 2023 Merit Poker Gangster Series $5,300 High Roller will begin at 8:00 p.m. local time at the Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino with a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000!

The series has only just kicked off, but it has already been a huge success. The first event of the series was the $2,200 Warm Up which attracted 453 entrants. This was enough to smash the guarantee and bring the first prize pool of the series to a whopping $833,520 with an impressive first-place prize of $167,500. That event is being streamed over on the Merit Poker Youtube Channel.

The $5,300 High Roller will feature a fun, yet deep structure as players begin the tournament with 100,000 in starting chips. It will have 40-minute levels with a 20-minute break after every three levels. This event is also eight-handed. Hopefully, the massive stacks with shorter levels will lead to some creative play and big action.

Both of the first and second day of the event will start at 8:00 p.m. local time. The goal is to play Day 2 down to a final table of eight players. That final table will then be streamed on the Merit Poker YouTube channel on the last day starting at 2:00 p.m. local time.

This is an unlimited reentry tournament, but players who don’t find a bag on Day 1 will have the opportunity to enter all the way till the start of Level 12 on the second day of the event. Don’t miss your opportunity at what will likely be a massive first-place prize.
