Albert Sapiano

Albert Sapiano had a bet of 10,000 in front of him from early position on a flop of 510Q before Iurii Saiapin raised to 31,500 in the big blind. Sapiano then moved all in and Saiapin called for around 90,000.

Saiapin showed top pair, but he was behind Sapiano's two kings as the turn came the 7. The river was the 3 and Sapiano took the pot to send Saiapin to the rail as the first bustout of the tournament.

Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series Kicks Off With the $1,100 IPO Master at Noon

Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series
Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series

Situated along the idyllic shores of the eastern Mediterranean, the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino invites guests to enjoy the “good life.”

For the next 12 days, Merit Poker is celebrating that ideal with the Dolce Vita Series. It all begins today with Day 1a of the $1,100 IPO Master at noon local time.

This event features a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. Players begin with a 100,000 starting stack and play nine levels on the opening day. There are four starting flights, with Days 1a and 1b consisting of 45-minute levels. There is also a Day 1c tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. featuring 20-minute levels, while Day 1d has 15-minute levels beginning at 10 a.m. on July 26. All surviving players return for Day 2 on July 26 at 12:30 p.m.

Late registration remains open for the first 14 levels, with unlimited reentries allowed during the registration period.

This event is just the kickoff of a festival that runs through August 4. More than $3,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools are up for grabs in North Cyprus throughout the Dolce Vita Series festival. It concludes with the $2,200 La Notte Degli Assi Main Event with a $1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The last time Merit Poker brought the poker world to this scenic environment was in March when Elie Farah defeated Brazilian high roller Felipe Ketzer to win the Merit Poker Carmen Series Main Event. That event attracted 664 players and a prize pool of more than $1,800,000, giving the players this week a taste of the magic that can happen here.

Just being in this seaside paradise is living the good life. But only one player will emerge as the champion over the next several days, and it all starts today. Stay tuned to PokerNews throughout the day for all the live coverage of the start of the Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series.
