Chaoui is the First to Bust in a Set Over Set Situation

On a flop of 3♠8♥A♣, Mehdi Chaoui had 85,000 placed out in front of him from under the gun with Konstantin Voronin making the call from the cutoff.

The turn came the 10♥ and Chaoui bet out for 275,000. Voronin didn't take long to carve out the call.

When the K♣ landed on the river, Chaoui took some time before he bet around 625,000 with just 25,000 behind. Voronin instantly shoved to commit Chaoui, and Chaoui snap-called.

Chaoui had flopped a set of Snowmen but a brutal ten on the turn gave Voronin a higher set. Chaoui headed to the cashier's desk to rebuy, and Voronin added a lot of chips to his stack.

Playing five-handed, Mehdi Chaoui raised the button to 10,000 before Konstantin Voronin three-bet to 47,000 from the small blind. Mario Colavita cold four-bet to 140,000 out of the big blind, which only Voronin called.

The flop came down Q♠4♠6♥, causing Voronin to check. Colavita fired out 120,000 and Voronin called.

Voronin knuckled the table when the A♠ landed on the turn and Colavita fired out a second barrel, this time for 200,000. Voronin folded, surrendering the pot to Colavita.

Onur Ozgur opened to 9,000 from the cutoff with only Traian Stanciu defending out of the big blind.

The two players checked a runout of 7♠3♥4♣6♦J♦ all the way to the river before Stanciu fired out 15,000. Ozgur was curious enough to make the call, only to be shown J♣10♦ by Stanciu for a pair of jacks. Ozgur mucked and Stanciu pulled in the pot.

Konstantin Voronin raised to 12,000 out of the small blind and was met by a three-bet to 42,000 from Mario Colavita from the big blind. Voronin called to see a flop.

The dealer spread out a flop of 9♣6♦K♣, and Voronin check-called a bet of 35,000 from Colvatia.

The flush completing 7♣ turn got checked through for the 7♦ to fall on the river. Voronin led out for 110,000, which forced a quick fold from Colavita.

Over $10 Million Guaranteed at the 2025 Mediterranean Poker Party!

The Mediterranean Poker Party (MPP) returns to the Merit Royal Diamond Casino and Spa from May 3, bringing with it more than $10 million in guaranteed prize pools, including a monster-sized $5,300 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed MPP Main Event.

The 2025 edition of the MPP runs from May 3 through May 13 and wastes no time in exploding into action with the first of several seven-figure guaranteed events. Players will flock in droves to enter the $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em PokerOK Mystery Bounty event, which spans May 3-5.

While the Mystery Bounty edges toward crowning its champion, a $2,200 buy-in, $2,000,000 guaranteed NLHE Luxon Pay Grand Final shuffles up and deals. This tournament runs May 5-9 and should see a massive turnout. Last year, Bulgaria's Boris Kolev outlasted 1,564 opponents and banked an impressive $437,000, a prize second in size only to the first of Kolev's two World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet victories.

The biggest 2025 MPP tournament, at least in terms of prize money, is the $5,300 NLHE MPP Main Event and its $5 million guarantee. Other events include the $10,400 Onyx High Roller, which Jovan Kenjic won in 2024 for $365,000, the $1,100 EAPT Cyprus Main Event, the $1,100 NLHE 6-Max Turbo Bounty, and the $10,400 Onyx 6-Max High Roller.
