The $2,200 IPO Master at the 2025 Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series is entering its most pivotal stage yet. After four starting flights and ten levels on Day 2 at the Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino, only 123 players remain from the massive 730-entry field, each hoping to make a deep run at the $225,000 top prize and the coveted trophy.

Leading the way is Milos Miskovic, who bagged an impressive 1,885,000 at the end of Day 2. He is closely trailed by Roman Kolotiuk (1,820,000) and Alexey Savenkov (1,475,000), with a host of dangerous contenders not far behind.

Bezhanyan Gets Loose With Ace-Deuce

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Aren Bezhanyan
Aren Bezhanyan

Anthony Khouzami and Aren Bezhanyan just played a hand that took around 13 minutes.

First, Khouzami opened the hijack to 35,000 and Bezhanyan three-bet the cutoff to 85,000. When it got back to Khouzami, he four-bet to 235,000, before Bezhanyan five-bet to 380,000. Khouzami called.

They saw a flop of 8KA, which checked to the 2 turn. Khouzami checked, Bezhanyan bet 130,000, and Khouzami called.

When the 8 paired the board on the river, Khouzami checked and Bezhanyan bet 250,000. Khouzami went into the tank and around two minutes later, the clock was called. During his countdown, Khouzami called.

Bezhanyan then turned over A2 for a pair of aces, and Khouzami mucked while shaking his head.

Ketzer and El-Wely Double on the Bubble

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Felipe Ketzer (left)

During hand-for-hand play, there were no less than five all-in-and-calls.

Felipe Ketzer managed to double up in a hand against Joseph Sabe, where the chips went in preflop to leave Ketzer at risk for his 365,000.

Felipe Ketzer: AK All in
Joseph Sabe: KJ

Sabe paired his jack on the 6J3 flop, but had to fade a lot of outs as Ketzer had a flush draw. The 9 was a brick, but the 10 river kept Ketzer alive.

On another table, Mohamed El-Wely was all-in for 430,000 against Razvan Sabau.

Mohamed El-Wely: AK All in
Razvan Sabau: 33

El-Wely flopped a straight draw on Q109 and connected with it on the J turn, which left Sabau drawing dead. A meaningless 4 filled out the board, and El-Wely doubled up.

Cedric Schwaederle recalled the action until the river in a huge pot between Aren Bezhanyan and Yilu Yuan.

There was an open from late position, which Bezhanyan called on the button before Yuan three-bet squeezed from the big blind. Only Bezhanyan called.

They went to a flop of 8Q7, where Yuan continued and Bezhanyan called.

Both checked the J turn to the 2 river, where Yuan bet 250,000. Bezhanyan then shoved, which put Yuan to the test for his remaining 355,000. After thinking it over, Yuan eventually tossed in a chip.

Bezhanyan then revealed J9 for a pair of jacks, but Yuan held AJ for the same pair of jacks but with a better kicker.

Crespi Chip Leads

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Joan Crespi
Joan Crespi

Joan Crespi appears to be the chip leader with a stack of around 4,300,000. A portion of that came in a hand he just played with Abdou Antoun.

There were already around 800,000 in the middle on a board of J379 when Crespi shoved from under the gun, putting Antoun to the test for his stack of around 400,000. Eventually Antoun folded, and Crespi added to his massive stack.

Bezhanyan Triples Up in Wild Hand

Somebody sound the monster pot siren!

Jalal Jafari opened to 80,000 from under the gun and Aren Bezhanyan three-bet to 230,000 on the button. Mohamed El-Wely cold-called from the small blind, and Jafari also called.

The flop came 592 and El-Wely decided to lead for 85,000. Jafari called before Bezhanyan shoved for 710,000. El-Wely wasted no time in calling, then Jafari back-raised all in for 1,575,000. El-Wely started counting out his stack and after putting in the 710,000, he realized he had around 1,000,000 behind. After thinking a bit longer, he elected to fold, despite the great odds he was getting.

Aren Bezhanyan: A5 All in
Jalal Jafari: A3

El-Wely was furious after seeing the cards turned on their backs and told his friend that he folded pocket eights. There was still a runout to come, but the 910 turn and river changed nothing as Jafari missed his combo draw, which meant Bezhanyan scooped a massive pot with his pair of fives.

"You have nothing!" shouted El-Wely to Jafari, who was visibly frustrated at why Jafari didn't just call on the flop. Regardless, what's done is done and Bezhanyan stormed back up the leaderboard with a stack of around 3,000,000.

Two Birds, One Stone For Zheng

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Xiaosheng Zheng
Xiaosheng Zheng

Mohamed El-Wely opened to 125,000 from under the gun and Roman Kolotiuk shoved 360,000 from the cutoff. Xiaosheng Zheng then moved all in for just over 1,500,000 from the button, and Natan Chauskin called off his stack of 1,200,000 from the small blind. El-Wely, with all the action in front of him, folded K10.

Roman Kolotiuk: AK All in
Natan Chauskin: JJ All in
Xiaosheng Zheng: AQ

Zheng had the chance to eliminate two players, and was the favorite to do so after he paired his queen on the Q38 flop. A 2 on the turn left Kolotiuk and Chauskin with one shot at survival, but they couldn't find it as the 10 hit the river.

Agoudjil Flops a Set to Crack Voronin's Cowboys

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Konstantin Voronin
Konstantin Voronin

Adem Agoudjil just won a huge pot to eliminate Konstantin Voronin and surge up the counts.

The hand was recalled where it was learned that Agoudjil made it 100,000 from middle position and Voronin three-bet to 250,000 out of the big blind. Agoudjil called.

The flop came Qx3x2x and Voronin continued for 150,000, which Agoudjil called to the 9x turn. Again Voronin bet, this time for 375,000, and Agoudjil once again called.

A 6x fell on the river and Voronin shoved 550,000, which was met with a quick call by Agoudjil.

Voronin flipped KxKx, but that was no good as Agoudjil flopped a set holding 3x3x.

Xiaosheng Zheng

On a board of 9435, there were around 450,000 chips in the pot when Xiaosheng Zheng fired 225,000 from the big blind and Joan Crespi called from under the gun.

A 9 paired the board on the river and Zheng didn't show any signs of slowing down as he made it 650,000. Crespi needed a minute to think it over and took a long stare at his opponent before flicking in a call.

Zheng then rolled over a wheel with A2, and Crespi tapped the table as he mucked.

Santamaria Flops Two Pair and Scoops a Huge Pot

Level 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Gerard Carbo Santamaria
Gerard Carbo Santamaria

Antoine Hasbani had his stack of around 300,000 in from the hijack and was called by Afshin Afsharorumieh in the small blind & Gerard Carbo Santamaria in the big blind.

The flop came 98K where Afsharorumieh check-called a bet of 300,000 from Santamaria to the 5 turn, where he again went into check-call mode when Santamaria bet 475,000.

A 3 filled out the board and Afsharorumieh checked for a third time, then Santamaria fired out 775,000. Afsharorumieh didn't need to think for too long before he called.

Santamaria then flipped over two pair with 98, Hasbani mucked his J10, and Afsharorumieh showed A9 for a pair of nines before he mucked.
