Estrada Goes Rabbit Hunting
One unique feature at Merit Poker events is the rabbit-hunting card. Each player receives one per tournament and can redeem it in a live hand to see the next community card , or both, after folding postflop. It's a fun twist that adds a bit of extra suspense to marginal spots, as seen in the following hand.
In some blind-on-blind action, the flop read 8♣3♣5♥ and Pedro Ingles fired 1,000 from the small blind, only to be met with a raise to 3,000 from Soraya Estrada in the big blind. Ingles called.
An 8♥ paired the board and Ingles elected to lead out for 5,300, which gave Estrada a decision. After thinking it over, she elected to fold, but not before tossing in her rabbit-hunting card. The dealer revealed the 3♥ river before shipping the pot to Ingles.
