Musinyan Claws Back Some Chips After Slow Start
Level 9
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Gor Musinyan got off to a bad start in Day 2 after he lost a chunk of his chips, but he did just claw some back.
Yossi Eluz opened from under the gun to 4,000 and Antonio Califano called in the next seat. Lavrentiy Ni called in the hijack before Musinyan three-bet to 26,000 from the cutoff. Eluz called, then Califano shoved for 40,500. Both Musinyan and Eluz called, while Ni got out of the way.
On the 7♦Q♦6♦ flop, Musinyan's bet of 21,000 saw Eluz quickly folded.
Antonio Califano: K♦10♥
Gor Musinyan: A♦J♥
Califano was in trouble, and was left drawing dead when the 3♦ landed on the turn, completing the nut flush for Musinyan. The irrelevant 4♣ fell on the river, and Califano hit the rail.
