Tulepbergenov Coolers Vassiliou in 400-Big-Blind Pot

Level 1 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Azamat Tulepbergenov
Azamat Tulepbergenov

Azamat Tulepbergenov raised from under the gun to 1,000 and got called by Panayiotis Vassiliou in the cutoff, Remy Murcia on the button, and Arian Kashani in the big blind.

The flop came 69Q and after Kashani checked, Tulepbergenov fired out 2,500. Vassiliou called, and both Murcia & Kashani folded.

A J dropped on the turn and Tulepbergenov showed no signs of slowing down with a bet of 5,500. Vassiliou, however, also wanted to turn things a notch and made it 15,500 to go. Tulepbergenov, not one to back down, then moved all in, which sent Vassiliou into the tank. After letting out of huge puff of air, Vassiliou called for his full starting stack, which created a pot of 400 big binds in the opening level.

Panayiotis Vassiliou: 66 All in
Azamat Tulepbergenov: K10

Vassiliou had flopped a set but needed the board to pair on the river as he was behind to the turned straight of Tulepbergenov. Instead, it was Tulepbergenov that improved as the A upgraded his straight to Broadway, which meant he added more chips to his stack and became the early chip leader.

Fear not though, Vassiliou fans, the local player is back in action after a quick visit to the cage.
