Amiri Recalls a Hand

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

And we have the first millionaire!

Ehsan Amiri, who was the overall chip leader coming into the day, recalled a hand which brought his stack up to around 1,250,000.

“Everybody folded, a player on a small blind limped. I made 4x raise to 10K. He reraised me 32K, I called.

The flop came 762, he checked, I bet 16K, he called. We both checked the 7 turn.

On the K river, he bet 30K, and I jammed under his stack - around 170K. He tanked for a while and made a call with AK I showed 87."

Amiri has since lost a little of his stack, but still sits with around 1,050,000 as the midway point of Level 11 approaches.

Kashani Starts Day 2 Well

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Arian Kashani is going along just swimmingly as is approaching a stack of 500,000.

In the latest hand, Kashani limped from the small blind and Motokatsu Uhara checked the big blind.

On the 757 flop, Kashani fired 3,000, which Uhara called to see the 9 turn. Another bet came from Kashani, this time for 7,500, and Uhara quickly folded.

Kashani started the day with just over 200,000 and has more than doubled that so far on Day 2.

Kamel With the Higher Overpair

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Tamer Kamel
Tamer Kamel

Musa Genc raised from early position to 6,000 and Tamer Kamel three-bet to 17,000 from late position. Genc made the call when it folded back to him.

The two players checked a board of 683 to see the 7 hit the turn. Genc checked, and Kamel put out a delayed continuation-bet of 15,000. Genc carved out the call.

The river came the 3 and Genc led out for 45,000. Kamel snap-called and Genc turned over JxJx for a pair of jacks. This was second best to the QQ of Kamel for a higher overpair.

Jalba Bets Small With the Nuts

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

With around 25,000 chips in the pot on a J35K board, Eusebiu Jalba checked from the small blind and Marcin Puczylowski bet 21,000 from early position. Jalba called.

A K paired the board on the river and Jalba decided to lead out for a small bet of 15,000. Puczylowski called.

Jalba then showed the nuts with KJ and let out a sigh, perhaps disappointed that Puczylowski didn't raise his small bet.

Both players checked the 10 river and Estrada took down the pot with 66 for just a pair of sixes.

Battle of Big Slick Ends with Tasyurek's Flush Sending Toderita Out

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Halil Tasyurek
Halil Tasyurek

Stefan Toderita in the cutoff had his stack of around 130,000 in the middle against Halil Tasyurek from the big blind.

Stefan Toderita: AK All in
Halil Tasyurek: AK

The most likely outcome of the hand would be a chop, but the 938 flop certainly made things interesting as Tasyurek picked up a flush draw. A 4 on the turn brought Toderiita one step closer to survival, but the Q river gave Tasyurek the nut flush, ending Toderita's tournament life.
