Bystrenin Blasts Off Into Brinkmann
Level 2
: Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Oleg Bystrenin had already been caught bluffing today, and his second attempt cost him his tournament life.
Preflop, the action was picked up with Martin Brinkmann having 5,300 in front of him from the small blind and Oleg Bystrenin making it 13,500 from the big blind. Brinkmann called.
The 9♥Q♣5♦ flop saw Brinkmann check-call for 6,500 and both tapped the table when the 10♣ fell on the turn.
A 6♣ river brought in the backdoor flush draw and after Brinkmann checked, Bystrenin shoved for around 60,000. It took around five seconds for Brinkmann to call.
"Straight draw," said Bystrenin as he revealed A♥J♥. That was no good as Brinkmann tabled top pair with A♣Q♦ to take the pot and eliminate Bystrenin.
