Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Boris Kolev
Boris Kolev

The inaugural $10,400 Merit Millions event at the 2025 Merit Poker Classic Millions wrapped up last April, with Boris Kolev rising above a talented field of 212 entries to become the first-ever Merit Millions champion. Held inside the stunning Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa, the unique event ended with Kolev capturing the coveted title and the massive $1,000,000 guaranteed top prize.

Kolev, who began the final table third in chips, put on a clinical display to systematically dismantle his opponents on the way to victory. In doing so, he became the first player in Merit Poker history to walk away with a seven-figure payday. The Bulgarian pro made quick work of Mehdi Chaoui in a brief heads-up battle to seal the title and etch his name in the record books.

Gulseven is Gone by the Turn

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

With around 140,000 already in the pot on a flop of 2105, Toni Ravnak checked from under the gun and Erdal Gulseven shoved for 110,000 in the hijack. Caner Gunes immediately jammed himself with the covering stack on the button, and Ravnak got out of the way.

Erdal Gulseven: KJ All in
Caner Gunes :A10

Gunes had top pair with the nut flush draw, and had Gulseven on the ropes. Gulseven needed a king or a jack that wasn't a spade to stay alive.

Gunes improved to trips on the 10 turn and Gulseven was drawing dead. An inconsequential 9 came on the river, and Gulseven was out.

Gulseven Doubles Through Zaharagi; Litvinov Busts

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Erdal Gulseven was all-in for 241,000 from the big blind, and Maor Zaharagi was the player trying to send everyone a step closer to the money.

Erdal Gulseven: A9 All in
Maor Zaharagi: A5

Zaharagi needed a lot of help if he was to win the hand as Gulseven had him crushed with the superior kicker.

The board ran out 3610QK, helping neither player, which meant Gulseven's ace-nine won the pot and he doubled up.

Andrey Litvinov was seen leaving the tournament area and has been eliminated.
