Nashar and the Reentry Desk Get Acquainted
Having had a full night's rest after being the bubble boy of Day 1b and losing the biggest pot of the tournament following a 14-hour day of poker, Hassan Nashar was back and ready to begin again in Day 1c.
On his very first hand, he looked at one card and raised to 10,000 from under the gun. Sergio Villalba committed his final 3,000 from the next seat, and when the action folded to Aleksandr Basin in the big blind, he jammed, covering Nashar. Nashar peeled back his second card and snap-called.
Sergio Villalba: XxXx
Hassan Nashar: 9x9x
Aleksandr Basin: Ax4x
Nashar had woken up with a stronger-than-usual hand and just needed to fade an ace to score a double-up in the very first hand of his new campaign.
Instead, a disastrous Ax4x3x flop propelled Basin into the lead and ensured that Nashar's fresh start would be a short-lived one.
The rest of the board bricked out, and Nashar and Villalba both headed for the exit.
Nashar has since reentered, busted, reentered again, busted for a third time after moving all in completely blind, and reentered once more. He is now sitting behind yet another fresh 100,000-chip starting stack.
