Viktor Siegle raised to 50,000 from the cutoff, with Caner Gunes calling on the button, Aleksandr Chernikov calling from the small blind, and Hanif Shafeghat defending from the big blind.
After two checks on the 9♥3♦7♣ flop, Siegle fired a continuation-bet of 75,000. Gunes and Shafeghat called, while Chernikov got out of the way.
Shafeghat checked again on the J♦ turn, and Siegle fired a second barrel, this time for 200,000. Gunes called, while Shafeghat folded.
Heads-up to the 4♣ river, where Siegle immediately bet enough to put Gunes all in. Gunes had 295,000 remaining and went deep into the tank.
Gunes considered the decision for around five minutes, using all but one of his time banks. In the end, he took a gulp of water before eventually slamming in the call.
Siegle tabled 9♦9♣ for a flopped set to win the pot and eliminate Gunes, whose 5♦4♦ had improved to a pair of fours on the river.
Gunes shook Siegle's hand before heading to the payout desk, while Siegle moved to just shy of two million chips.
