Bezhanyan Dusts Off 'Assorio'; Orman Busts Okolovich
A pot of around 1,100,000 had already developed between Aren Bezhanyan in the small blind, 'Assorio' in middle position, and Selahaddin Bedir on the button.
Most of 'Assorio''s stack had gone into the middle preflop, and he had just 10,000 remaining as the dealer spread the 6♠5♦5♣ flop. Bezhanyan checked, 'Assorio' committed his last few chips, and Bedir raised to 200,000. Bezhanyan called, creating a side pot between himself and Bedir.
The 7♥ turn checked through before the K♦ completed the board. Bezhanyan then bet 455,000, forcing Bedir to fold.
Bezhanyan pulled in the side pot and tabled K♥Q♦ for king-high. 'Assorio' couldn't beat it with Q♠10♦, and he became the latest player to head to the rail.
At a nearby table, Iurii Okolovich was seen leaving the tournament area after his AxKx was second best to the 7x7x of Leonid Orman on a board of K♦8♠7♠5♠A♦.
