The trophy awaits one of the 19 remaining players when the final day of the Merit Poker Carmen Series $3,300 Main Event begins at 1 p.m. local time.

Maxime Chilaud is once again the man the rest of the field is trying to track down as he takes a chip-leading stack of 10,475,000 into Day 4. Behind him are Fausto Tantillo (8,950,000), Simeon Spasov (7,540,000), Eduard Barsegian (6,280,000), and Walter Treccarichi (5,740,000). Barsegian has been on a run for the ages at this festival, with two final table appearances already. He’ll try to make it a third today.

Further down the leaderboard are Michael Magalashvili (3,855,000), Denis Kapustin (3,615,000), Atanas Pavlov (3,025,000), Roman Kolotiuk (2,280,000), and Davut Aydemir, who is trying to follow in his father Recep’s footsteps and make it to the final table. He’ll have his work cut out for him as he’s near the bottom of the leaderboard with 2,095,000.

The final 19 players are all that’s left of a massive field of 765 entries that crowded the poker room of the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino in North Cyprus. They’ve already guaranteed themselves $17,070, but all eyes will be on the $376,800 top prize and coveted Merit Poker title.

Play picks up on Level 29, with blinds of 60,000-120,000 and a 120,000 big blind ante. The feature table will be streamed on a delay on Merit Poker’s YouTube and Facebook channels.

There will be a new champion by the end of the day, and PokerNews will be following all the action and providing live updates until there is just one man left standing.

Barsegian Plays Back at the Chip Leader

Level 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Eduard Barsegian raised to 250,000 from the button and chip leader Maxime Chilaud defended his big blind.

The flop came {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Chilaud checked to Barsegian, who continued for 275,000. Chilaud called to the {4-Spades} turn and both players checked.

Chilaud led out for 450,000 on the {6-Clubs} river and Barsegian used a time bank before he raised to 1,100,000. Chilaud tanked for a moment before he flicked in a chip to call.

Barsegian turned over {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for a straight as he took a healthy chunk off Chilaud's stack to begin the day.

Navid Samavati Eliminated in 19th Place ($17,070)

Level 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Navid Samavati
Navid Samavati

Action folded to Roman Kolotiuk on the button who used a time bank card before mucking. Navid Samavati in the small blind, though, pushed all in for 1,820,000. Fausto Tantillo, from the big blind, asked for a count before he called.

Navid Samavati: {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Fausto Tantillo: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Both players hit their ace on the {5-Hearts}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop, while the {j-Spades} on the turn left Samavati drawing dead but opened the possibility of a chop. The {8-Spades} on the turn, though, was not what Samavati was hoping for as he became the first casualty of Day 4.

Spasov Finds Kings To Leave Eluz Short

Level 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Simeon Spasov opened to 240,000 from late position and Yossi Eluz defended in the big blind.

Eluz checked and then called a continuation of 120,000 from Spasov on a flop of {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Both players checked through the {10-Clubs} turn to the {8-Spades} river at which point Eluz bet out 500,000. Spasov quickly called and turned over {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} which was strong enough to beat the counterfeited {3-}{3-} of Eluz.

Spasov Shoves the River on Kapustin

Level 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Denis Kapustin raised to 240,000 on the button and Simeon Spasov came along from the big blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Kapustin continued for 185,000. Spasov called to see the {8-Hearts} turn, where he led out for 220,000.

Kapustin came back with a raise to 575,000 and Spasov quickly called. The river came the {8-Spades} and Spasov announced he was all in.

Kapustin, with around 2,650,000 remaining, leaned back in his seat and looked over at Spasov before sliding his cards into the muck.
