Cinca Struggling Early

Level 1 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Alexandru Cinca
Alexandru Cinca

Alexandru Cinca made a deep run in the Warmup event but he has his work cut out for him if he wants to repeat that performance here in the Main Event, as he's already down to just 20,000.

In his last hand, Cinca bet 5,500 from the small blind on a board of {7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and was called by Anatoly Korochenskiy in early position.

The river came the {j-Clubs} and Cinca checked over to Korochenskiy, who bet out 10,000. Cinca paused for a moment before calling as Korochenskiy turned over {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

"That's good," Cinca replied upon seeing Korochenskiy's rivered set as he mucked.

Atanasov Takes the Rest From Nurmuhammedov

Level 1 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Parahat Nurmuhammedov bet 3,000 from early position on a flop of {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and was called by Stefan Atanasov next to act. A player in the big blind folded as they went heads-up to the {4-Spades} turn.

Nurmuhammedov checked over to Atanasov, who bet 8,000. Nurmuhammedov considered the decision for a moment before calling as the {a-Spades} fell on the river.

Atanasov this time slid forward a stack of chips, enough to put Nurmuhammedov all in for his last 27,500. Nurmuhammedov again tanked for around two minutes before slamming in his remaining chips.

Atanasov opened up {q-Spades}{8-Spades} for a flush and the two players shook hands.

"See you later," Atanasov told his vanquished opponent as Nurmuhammedov ran off to reenter.

Level 2 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Juozas Bizokas raised to 1,500 from early position before Terence Etim three-bet to 4,000 in middle position. Michel Habib called in the big blind, as did Bizokas as they went three-handed to the {7-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Souki Peaking Too Soon?

Level 2 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Philippe Souki and a player in the hijack were heads-up on a board of {6-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs} with 10,000 already in the pot when Souki's opponent bet 5,500.

Souki quickly called to the {k-Spades} river, when he again checked. His opponent checked back this time and Souki turned over {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for trip kings to take the pot.

Level 2 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Stefan Atanasov
Stefan Atanasov

Stefan Atanasov has busted his second player through the first two levels of Day 1a, and this time his unfortunate victim was Michel Habib.

Atanasov three-bet to 5,000 from the hijack and both Habib and Joseph Mouwad called. The flop came {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Atanasov continued for 7,500.

Mouwad folded, but Habib immediately moved all in for 62,000. Atanasov tanked for about 30 seconds before throwing in a chip to call.

Michel Habib: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Stefan Atanasov: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Habib had flopped top set, while Atanasov had an overpair and straight draw. The {4-Spades} on the turn was no help, but the {9-Clubs} on the river completed Atanasov's straight and sent Habib to the rail.
