Christoforou Left Short

Level 6 : Blinds 700/1,500, 1,500 ante

A player opened to 3,500 from middle position before a player in late position three-bet to 11,500. Andreas Christoforou called in the cutoff while the original raiser folded to send the two remaining players heads-up to the flop.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and the middle position player checked to Christoforou who made it 10,000 to go. His opponent made the call to send the action to the turn.

The {8-Hearts} turn saw the middle position player checked for a second time and Christoforou opted to bet again, this time pushing 15,000 across the betting line. The middle position player then raised enough to force Christoforou all in and, with 28,000 behind, the Cypriot made a reluctant fold to leave himself short.

Duta Struggling For Momentum

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Florian Duta opened to 3,000 from early position and was called by a player in middle position, the cutoff and the big blind.

The big blind checked following the {3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop and Duta continued for 4,500. That got a fold from the middle position player and the big blind but the cutoff made the call to see a turn.

Both players checked through the board pairing {q-Diamonds} turn to the {3-Spades} river at which point Duta checked once more. His opponent, unwilling to go to a cheap showdown, pushed 11,000 into the middle. Duta thought for a moment before making the call but mucked after the cutoff tabled {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to leave the Romanian, who already flamed out on one bullet during this flight, short.

Lybaert Extracts Value

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Bart Lybaert opened to 3,000 from under the gun only to see the cutoff three-bet to 12,000. The button and blinds got out of the way to send the action back to Lybaert who made the call.

The {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop prompted both players to check to see the {2-Spades} turn after which Lybaert took over the betting lead, firing off 8,000. His opponent was not going anywhere just yet and made the call.

Once the {2-Hearts} river completed the board, Lybaert did not slow down, instead betting out a hefty 21,000. The cutoff, seemingly unconvinced, called but mucked after Lybaert confidently tabled {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for the winner.

Ionel Finds Lucky Double

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ionel Anton
Ionel Anton

A player opened to 5,000 from late position and action folded to Anton Ionel in the small blind who moved all in for his last 28,000. The big blind folded to send the action back to the late position player who quickly called to put Ionel at risk.

Anton Ionel: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}
Late Position Player: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Ionel was in rough shape with his dominated ace but found immediate help on the {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop. The {4-Spades} turn was clean for the at risk player with the {3-Clubs} river confirming a full double for Ionel to keep him in contention.

Fal Leaves Lahav Short

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Tomer Lahav opened to 4,500 from middle position and was called by the cutoff as well as Nikolay Fal on the button and Rafi Elharar in the small blind.

Elharar checked following the {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and Lahav continued for 6,000. The cutoff called before Fal jacked it up to 26,500. That convinced Elharar and the cutoff to vacate the pot but Lahav decided to call to generate heads-up action heading to the turn.

Lahav checked to Fal on the {6-Spades} turn and the Russian continued his earlier aggression with a bet of 18,500. Again, Lahav did not go away as he once more flatted.

The {10-Spades} river put a four card flush on the board which caused Lahav to lead into Fal for a mammoth 75,000. Fal, with little more than that behind, moved the remainder of his stack into the middle. Lahav quickly called but, after Fal tabled {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for the ace high flush, mucked before paying off his opponent's stack with visible frustration.
