Winstone Doubles Through Karatas

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Thomas Winstone was all in preflop and he got one call from Ismet Karatas in the small blind.

Thomas Winstone: {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Ismet Karatas: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Winstone is ahead but Karatas is live and there is still a sweat after the {3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop lands. The {q-Hearts} turn sees Karatas move into the lead but the {a-Spades} river gives Winstone two-pair for a much-needed double.

Quads vs Full House

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The flop was already out, with {5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} on show. Sheldon Colaco had got the last of his chips in and Stuart McLean and Kastriot Shytani went all in for a bigger side pot.

Stuart McLean: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Kastriot Shytani: {q-Spades}{3-Spades}
Sheldon Colaco: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}

It was bad news for Shytani and Colaco who were up against McLean's set. The {5-Hearts} turn sealed the deal, giving McLean quads and another {q-Clubs} on the river wasn't enough to save Shytani who's chip lead has taken a hit. The hand also signalled the end for Colaco who hits the rail.

Polkinghorne and Chauhan Clash Blind vs Blind

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Ryan Polkinghorne has not long taken a seat and he is in a pot in the big blind, against Jiten Chauhan who is sat in the small.

The dealer places {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades} on the flop and after a check from Chauhan, Polkinghorne announces his all in. It's a snap-call from Chauhan and they turn their cards over.

Ryan Polkinghorne: {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Jiten Chauhan: {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

It's top two pair, vs ten-high and a runner-runner straight draw. The {6-Clubs} turn gives Polkinghorne open-ended outs and he hits one of them on the {5-Hearts} river.

Chauhen takes it calmly, merely shaking his head as he counts out 26,800 to hand over.

Shytani Continues to Slide

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

It has been a tough run of late for Kastriot Shytani, who has dwindled since the last break and he has just taken another hit after getting it all in against Dragos Haluca preflop.

The hand began with a limp from Ismet Karatas on the cutoff and Stuart McLean upped it to 5,300. Shytani flatted in the small blind and Haluca shipped for 60,000 in the big. Both Karatas and McLean folded but it was a quick call from Shytani, who turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} to see he was dominated by Haluca's {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

The {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs} was good for Haluca, who made a full house by the end and he is on the rise again.

Moneymaker Eliminates Three to Soar into the Chip Lead

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Moneymaker (in a previous event)
Chris Moneymaker (in a previous event)

Thanks go to Chris Moneymaker for recounting the details of the following hand: There was a limp, followed by a 7,500 raise from Bogdan Juc. Moneymaker flat called and it folded round to Daniel Silverman who three-bet all in for 26,000. Ryan Polkinghorne moved all in over the top for 75,000 in the big blind and when the action came back to Bogdan Juc, he went over the top again for 150,000. Moneymaker now had a decision to make and he called, leaving the four players to flip over their cards.

Chris Moneymaker: {a-}{k-}
Bogdan Juc: {10-}{10-}
Ryan Polkinghorne: {6-}{6-}
Daniel Silverman: {j-}{j-}

The board came {k-}{j-}{q-}{10-}{6-}, making a set for each of the pocket pairs but it was broadway for Moneymaker and he now has almost a third of the chips in play after winning the hand of the day.

Iacob Doubles Through Patel

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The {9-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades} turn was already out and Dillan Patel checked to Chris Moneymaker who bet 8,000 into the pot. Claudio Iacob called behind and when the action was back on Patel, he raised to 35,000. Moneymaker passed and Iacob made the call, which was for over half his chips.

The river was the {7-Hearts} and Iacob moved all in for the rest and Patel snap-called.

Claudio Iacob: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Dillan Patel: {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Patel had turned the straight but it was beaten by Iacob's rivered flush and he is up to over 100,000 now.
