Patel Moving Up on Second Entry

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

After an early first exit, Jay Patel is making some headway, almost doubling up on the 30,000 starting stack.

Just now he flat called an under the gun open in early position and was called by one player behind, before the blinds came along too.

On the {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, it checked to Patel, who bet 3,000 and the cutoff and small blind called. The turn was the {a-Hearts} and Patel didn't barrel, giving the cutoff the option to bet, which he did. Only Patel called the 7,000 bet and they were heads up on the river.

It was the {10-Clubs} and this time it went check-check. Patel turned over {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of queens and it was enough to secure him the pot.

Suhail and Kassa Clash

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Marek Jablonski limped in early position and Getnet Kassa raised to 2,600 in middle position. Mohammed Suhail flatted on the cutoff and Jablonski came along too.

Kassa continued for 5,100 on the {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Suhail went all in for 15,700. Jablonski got out the way and Kassa called the rest.

Mohammed Suhail: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Getnet Kassa: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Suhail was dominating with a set vs top pair and the {3-Spades} turn locked up the hand for him, rendering the {10-Diamonds} river irrelevant.

Akhtar and Poulengeris

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

There has been some banter over on the newly opened Table 4. At the centre of it, Antonis Poulengeris moved all in blind, challenging anyone who had the "bottle" to get involved. It came to Umberan Akhtar and he decided to join the fun, also moving all in blind. There were no other challengers for the pot and the two players spun their cards on their backs.

Umberan Akhtar: {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Antonis Poulengeris: {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} runout favored the preflop favorite, making him a boat by the river and Poulengeris immediately headed over to the registration desk for another try.

Silverman Flying

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Daniel Silverman and Luke Evans were heads up in a pot on the flop with {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades} on show. Silverman, playing from under the gun, checked to Evans, who bet 11,500. Silverman called and they saw a {10-Diamonds} come on the turn.

Silverman checked again and Evans bet 15,100. After timing down for almost 30 seconds, Silverman moved all in. He covered Evans, who had 27,000 behind and Evans quickly called but couldn't hide his disappointment when he saw the bad news.

Daniel Silverman: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Luke Evans: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

There was no coming back for Evans, who had two pair but was drawing dead to Silverman's set. Still, the dealer put a {7-Diamonds} down to complete the board.

Silverman is really flying now. After falling in the last three minutes of Day 1a, he is feeling happier about the result, telling the table: "It's a good thing I busted yesterday". That pot makes him the current chip leader.

Winstone Back In

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Another player to try their luck today is Thomas Winstone. Unable to find a bag despite firing a few times yesterday, Winstone is back in the game and so far he has almost doubled his starting stack.

Kassa Eliminated by Padilha

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Getnet Kassa started the day with a double after getting it in with pocket-aces vs pocket-kings in the first hand of the day. The momentum hasn't continued though, with Kassa finding himself short and just now he moved all in preflop and was called by Celso Padilha.

Celso Padilha: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
Getnet Kassa: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Padilha was ahead but Kassa still had a lot of outs. That all changed on the {k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop, with Kassa drawing only to running outs. There was a glimmer of hope on the {9-Diamonds} turn but it was short-lived as the {8-Hearts} completed the board.

Dedusha Calls the Bluff

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Artan Dedusha limped under the gun and Neil Mahamdi called on the button before Shane carter moved all in with a short stack in the big blind. Dedushua raised it up to 10,800 total and Mahamdi came along.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Dedusha bet 8,000, which Mahamdi called. The {5-Diamonds} turn went check-check and the river came the {5-Spades}. When Dedusha checked again, Mahamdi moved all in for almost 15,000, which was just enough to cover his opponent. That didn't stop Dedusha from calling though and when the cards were turned over, he had made the correct call, with Mahamdi showing the attempted bluff.
