Watts Takes Some Back

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Richard Watts had lost some chips coming into the previous hand. He and Gary Miller were heads up on a {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop and he check-called a 4,200 bet.

On the {10-Diamonds} turn, Watts checked again and Miller checked it back. The last card out was the {j-Diamonds}, bringing a one-card straight possibility and Watts led for 15,000, which got a snap-fold from Miller. The pot brings some back for Watts.

Watts and Miller Tussle Again

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Six players limped before the action came to Gary Miller in the big blind. He raised to 11,600 and only Richard Watts came along, putting the extra 10,000 in from middle position.

There was no betting on the {4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop; neither was there on the {5-Hearts} turn. The river card was the {6-Spades} and Miller bet 6,200, which Watts called, turning over {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a rivered pair of sixes and beating Miller's {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

Ilie Sticks Around

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

There was a 4,000 open and a flat before Christina Ilie three-bet to 16,000 in the blinds. Both players called and the flop fell {2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. Ilie checked and the player next to act made it 8,000, with only Ilie calling.

Heads up on the {4-Clubs} turn and once again Ilie check-called a 5,000 bet. The river came the {10-Hearts} and it went check-check. Ilie turned over {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and her opponent mucked, putting her up over 100,000 chips now.

Royal Flush for Patel

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

After a royal flush in the closing stages of the tournament last night, incredibly, there has been another one over on Table 3. Jay Patel was the man at the centre of the action with {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} in the hole and he kindly relayed how the hand played out.

There was a 3,400 open and Patel and one other called behind. The flop was {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs} and there was a continuation bet of 2,500, which Patel called.

On the {k-Clubs} turn, Patel had improved to a flush draw and a gutshot. He flat called another bet, this time for 7,500. His opponent check-folded to a 10,000 bet on the {j-Clubs} river but Patel showed the royal flush to the table. The pot, though not a big one, puts him around 30,000 chips above average.

Winstone Eliminated by Watts

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Thomas Winstone has hit the rail after losing a flip against Richard Watts. Winstone three-bet 33,000 all in from the big blind over Watts' early position open and another flat call. Watts was the only one to call and they turned their cards on their backs to see they were off to the races.

Richard Watts: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Thomas Winstone: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

With an ace on the {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} board, Winstone was in rough shape. The {9-Hearts} turn and {5-Spades} river didn't help him and he hits the rail.
