Chung Barrels

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Yiu Chung continues to build his stack. The latest of his chips have come in a hand that was already on the flop with {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} down.

One player checked to Chung, who bet 5,300 and his opponent called. The turn was the {j-Spades} and Chung barreled for 16,500. The bet proved too much for his opponent, who let it go and that pot takes Chung over the 100k mark now.

Kassa Chipping Away

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Getnet Kassa has come close to bagging for Day 2 in previous flights this week. In fact, last night he busted the final hand of the tournament after his pocket aces were cracked by ace-ten suited, with all the chips going in preflop.

Today he is back and he has built a stack already. He just added another decent chunk to it after a player ran {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} into his {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} preflop, with Kassa holding through the {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} board.

Basbaydar Puts Mason in a Difficult Spot

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Following an under-the-gun open and a flat call from Firat Basbaydar, Jen Mason three-bet to 12,500. It folded round to the initial raiser who passed and the action was on Basbaydar who moved all in. Mason used most of her 30 seconds of time to think it through before electing to let it go.

Their table had seen some heavy preflop action of late but not for any longer, as the tournament director has just broken the table.

Van De Geer Ousted by Samuel

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

All the chips went in preflop and Leendert Van De Geer was the one with his tournament life on the line and he was in with the worst of it.

Mika Samuel: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Leendert Van De Geer: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The {7-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop hit for Van De Geer but the {10-Clubs} turn turned things on their head, giving Samuel broadway. There was no ace to chop on the {q-Clubs} river, sending Van De Geer out the door.

Full House Not Good Enough for Kebe

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Jimmy Kebe (in a previous event)
Jimmy Kebe (in a previous event)

A massive pot was brewing on the {9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} board and Jimmy Kebe and Martin Ferreira were at the centre of it. Kebe checked to Ferreira, who bet 9,500. Kebe took his time before calling.

On the {8-Spades} turn, the bottom card had paired and it saw another check from Kebe and a 16,500 barrel from Ferreira. Once again, Kebe made the call.

The last card out was the {2-Hearts} and after a third check from Kebe, Ferreira declared his all in. Kebe couldn't get his chips in quick enough but as it turned out, his second-nut full house wasn't good enough.

Martin Ferreira: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Jimmy Kebe: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Ferreira had the top boat and that pot eliminates Kebe, whilst giving the Spaniard one of the top stacks in the field.

Mitchell, Bester and Deljarry Out

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

There are about 45 minutes left of late registration, which means Graeme Bester and Kevin Deljarry will need to get a move on if they want to re-enter this flight.

Deljarry was overheard telling a friend that he had got it in on the river when he'd hit a set of sixes and run into a set of aces, which his opponent had flopped.
