Mercier Sniffs Out a Problem

We're just a few minutes from the next break, and Jason Mercier will have gone into having dodged a huge land mine. It was a little unclear how the action started. An early position player was in the pot. Mercier had 2,200 chips in front of him in late position, with the player to his left just calling that raise. The first player in the hand then put in another raise, to 7,300 total.

Mercier, sitting behind about 50,000 chips, tanked for several minutes, having cut out calling chips from his stacks. Twice he seemed as if he were about to put those chips in the pot before thinking better of the iea. He finally folded.
