Negreanu's Mis-Bet No Problem

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu started the day by doubling up on the third hand he played. He's given some of that back and is once again attempting to claw his way up with the rest of the pack.

Negreanu was a late-position pre-flop raiser in a recent hand and was re-raised by the player in the cutoff. Negreanu called, creating an 11,000-chip pot. Both players checked the board all the way to the river, {Q-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}. That's where Negreanu made a rainbow bet of one brown chip (10,000), one red chip (5,000) and one yellow chip (1,000). His opponent gave the matter some thought and then folded.

"I meant to bet 11,500," remarked Negreanu with a smile as the pot was pushed to him. He's now sitting behind 40,000.
