Moneymaker's Bluff Called

Chris Moneymaker is all business when he's at a poker table. Hat, sunglasses, and a stone face have become Moneymaker's table look. But even Moneymaker, having honed that image over 7 years on the tournament circuit, can still betray some emotion.

In a battle of the blinds, Moneymaker opened a {7-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades} flop for 800. His opponent raised to 2,200 and Moneymaker called. Both players checked when the third spade fell on the turn, {K-Spades}. That gave Moneymaker an opening to fire 3,000 on a {Q-Hearts} river. His opponent, however, wasn't about to lay down trips and made the call with {9-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}.

After Moneymaker flipped his cards into the muck, he shook his head ever so slightly and his shoulders heaved a sigh. His stack is down to 25,000.
