Tough Spot for Makowsky

As the break was beginning, Daniel "amichaiKK" Makowsky found himself in a big hand. He bet out 55,000 on a {7-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {A-Clubs} board, and David Paredes called. The river was the {2-Spades}, and Makowsky checked. Parades applied as much pressure as he could, moving all in for 105,500.

Makowsky agonized for several minutes. He counted his own stack a few times. A call would leave him with 20,000. The tournament floor emptied out for break, and finally, Makowsky folded {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} face up. He asked Parades to show, but while sounding genuinely sorry not to be able to put him out of his misery, Parades said he'd tell him at the end of the tournament.
