Binger Steamed

Michael Binger
Michael Binger
The cards were already on their backs by the time we came to Michael Binger's table, but the sequence of events was pretty clear from the position of the button and the stack sizes.

Binger opened with a raise from early position. A short stack then moved all in from late position before Mike De Gilio re-raised all in from the blinds. Binger had both players covered and called, taking the table to a three-way showdown.

Binger: {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
De Gilio: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}
Shorty: {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

"Just no queen," Binger pleaded the dealer, willing to concede the smaller main pot in order to win the large side pot. He didn't get his wish; the flop came {8-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {2-Clubs} to give De Gilio a set of queens.

An irate Binger immediately pounced out of his chair. "So sick!" he wailed. "Every ****ing time! How does that happen in every big ****ing tournament I play!"

De Gilio said nothing as the turn and river came blanks, {4-Hearts} and {6-Spades}. He collected both the main pot and the side pot, eliminating the short-stacked player in the process. He's now sitting behind 610,000, while Binger is down to 260,000.
