Lawson Picks off a Bluff

Chein Nguyen raised to 300 from the hijack, and was called by the small blind William Lawson, and the big blind Sean Magness.

The flop came 6♣5♠7♣ and after Lawson checked, Magness bet out 400. Nguyen folded, and Lawson made the call.

After the 7♥ turn, Lawson check-called a bet of 1,000 from Magness.

The river was the Q♥ and after Lawson checked, Magness bet 2,800. Lawson gave the decision some thought, before making the call.

Magness tabled A♦8♣ for a missed straight draw, and ace high. Lawson then showed 5♦4♥ for a pair of fives to take the pot.
