Day 4 Started
Welcome back to The Big Event Main Event! What started with 417 players has now been reduced to the final 22, each looking to claim the top spot and the accompanying $500,000 first-place prize. Leading the charge is well-known pro Victor Ramdin who rode his Day 2 chip lead through Day 3 and starts the day with 1.6 million.
Ramdin is not the only well-known pro remaining in the field. He has some tough competition in the forms of Taylor von Kriegenbergh, Alex Kamberis, David Paredes, David “ODB” Baker, Chris DeMaci, Govert Metaal, and Joe Hachem. The 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion worked a small stack throughout Day 3 but managed a nice comeback to put himself in contention for the title. No doubt most eyes, especially those in Australia, will be focused on Hachem as the field plays down to the final table.
There are still a few big names left in the field, so the odds of one making it to there are fairly good. The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be here to bring you all the hands, action, and eliminations with live coverage from the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California! Action is set to begin in about two hours, so be sure to check back then.

The cards are in the air for Day 4. Final table, here we come!
There seems to have been a little incident that just went down between Alex Kamberis and Joshua "JJProdigy" Field. Field was previously caught numerous times for cheating on various online poker sites. He has had a few of his online poker accounts closed and was also banned from playing the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in 2007.
After Joe Gaultieri doubled up through Field, Kamberis made his way over to see what was going on. Some words were muttered between the two that couldn't be heard exactly, but the end of the exchange was heard loud and clear. Kamberis looked at Field and said, "You're a f***ing scumbag!" before walking back to his own table. We can only imagine that this has something to do with all of the allegations and scandals that Field has been a part of. We'll keep you posted to see if anything more comes of this.
We're not sure what happened, but as we made our way to the tournament floor we passed by Mike Kucinski at the payout desk. Kucinski was the short stack at the start of the day so it is no surprise he was the first player eliminated here on Day 4. He collected $11,500 for his efforts.
David Peters raised to 25,000 from early position and received a call from James Dowdy on the button. When the flop fell , Peters check-called a bet of 30,000 from Dowdy, leading to the turn.
After both players checked, the peeled off on the river and Peters check-called another of Dowdy's bets, this time 70,000. Dowdy rolled over and Peters mucked. With that, Dowdy is up to 1.25 million while Peters dropped to 280,000.
On the flop of , Taylor von Kriegenbergh bet 31,000. His opponent was Romik Vartzar and he put in a raise to 81,000. Vartzar had about 400,000 behind after he made the raise and von Kriegenbergh moved all in. Cartzar thought for a minute and then gave it up.
From under the gun, Bryan Barrile raised to 28,000. Victor Ramdin called on the button and James Dowdy called in the small blind. From the big blind, Santiago Nadal moved all in for around 340,000. Barrile called all in for less before Ramdin and Dowdy folded.

Nadal:
The board ran through and Nadal was able to eliminate Barrile en route to moving over 700,000 in chips.
David Paredes raised to 25,000 and Fab Gonzalez called in position to see the flop come down . Both players checked and the fell on the turn. Paredes bet 35,000 and Gonzalez raised to 119,000. Paredes made the call.
After the landed on the river, Paredes checked. Gonzalez tanked for a bit and then checked behind. Paredes tabled the to win the hand and moved to over 900,000 in chips. Gonzalez dropped to 604,000.
