Sherwood Goes for Value

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Mark Sherwood
Mark Sherwood

Four players - including Stelen Covel, Andrew Watson, and Mark Sherwood - saw a flop for 1,500 each, which came {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. The players checked it around and the dealer added the {4-Diamonds} to the board.

Covel and Watson checked. The fourth player in the hand made it 3,200 to go and Sherwood moved all-in for around 19,000 total. Covel took some time before settling on a fold and Watson quickly followed suit. The initial bettor, however, let out a groan as the action was back on him.

After a bit of thought he mucked {10-}{9-} face up and rapped the table.

"Good fold," Sherwood said, collecting the pot.

Reynolds Busts One and Chops

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
John Reynolds

Arriving at the end of a hand where the dealer was finishing up a countdown of a pot that rewarded the winner with a full double up, the middle-position- loser quickly moved all-in on the next hand with his remaining few thousand. After action folded around John Reynolds reshoved with his much larger stack.

Opponent {a-}{10-}

The board ran out {7-}{4-}{2-}{5-}{2-} and Reynolds busted his opponent

The very next hand a player in early position opened for a raise. Action folded to Reynolds who put in a three bet. The big blind called. The initial raiser then moved all in. Reynolds reshoved for more and the big blind called. Reynolds had both players covered.

All three players turned over {a-}{k-} to split the pot three ways when the board ran out {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Button Hunting, Rings, and Earrings

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante
Pam Belote
Pam Belote

Pam Belote loves to collect buttons.

Her button-hunting past time humbly began by asking dealer after dealer if she could have a missed blind button. Finally, upon returning to her seat on one occasion, she lightheartedly told the dealer she was keeping it.

Surprisingly the dealer told her "fine, we have plenty of them."

Belote is also on the hunt for rings. Circuit rings that is. Already this year she has won two Oklahoma WSOP Circuit tour women's event rings. She feels she should have collected a third at Choctaw Casino Resort earlier this year but noted there is one more chance to get the third when the tour returns to Choctaw in October.

Midway through the level, she has increased her starting stack 40% on her quest to add a Main Event trophy.
