Nouira Wins the Biggest Pot of the Tournament; Yong's Stack Decimated
Level 23
: Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante
Maher Nouira made it 1,700,000 from the button and Rob Yong called from the big blind.
The dealer spread out the flop of 3♦5♦8♥, and Yong checked. Nouira bet 3,000,000 and was met by an instant shove by Yong. Nouira had 15,500,000 remaining in his stack, and quickly called.
Maher Nouira: A♠8♦
Rob Yong: K♠8♠
Both players had top pair, but Nouira's ace-kicker had him out in front. The A♦ turn gave Nouira two pair, and left Yong drawing dead as the irrelevant 10♠ hit the river.
Nouira doubled up to the chip lead, while Yong was left with under ten big blinds.
