Pansier & Steinbrenner Freeroll Each Other
Nino Pansier opened the button to 750,000 and Justin Steinbrenner defended from the big blind.
After the dealer fanned out the 9♠6♠2♦ flop, Steinbrenner checked, and Pansier fired for 1,325,000. Steinbrenner check-raised to 4,400,000, and after giving it a lot of thought, Pansier called with less than pot behind.
A 10♦ rolled off on the turn and Steinbrenner jammed, covering Pansier. Pansier called for his stack of 12,950,000, and the players flipped their cards.
Nino Pansier: A♠A♦8♦7♦
Justin Steinbrenner: 8♣7♠6♦4♠
Both players turned the nut straight, however, each of them had a different flush draw. A spade on the river would win it for Steinbrenner, whereas a diamond would see Pansier take a huge chip lead.
The dealer burned a card, then delivered the K♣ on the river, resulting in a chop pot.
