Chong Takes From Wang and Gives to Lei

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

It was a case of pass the chips as opposed to pass the parcel over on chip leader Yang Wang's table. We caught the tail end of a hand playing out between Wang and Malaysia's Victor Chong, picking up the action on the river with the community cards spread {8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Chong was the man out of position but had checked the action over to Wang, who was inmid-position and had led for 17,500 into a pot of close to 22,000. Chong thought it over but made the call. Wang rolled over {5-Spades}{6-Spades} for a missed gutter, meaning Chong's {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} was good for the pot.

The very next hand the short-stacked Jichong Lei earned himself a little breathing room, moving all-in for 14,200 in middle position and the action folded around to Chong in the big blind.

"I like my hand," said Chong after peeking at his cards, "Ok, I call."

Jichong Lei: {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Victor Chong: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Lei was ahead but at-risk, but the {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop was a kind one for the man with ace-five. The {6-Diamonds} turn was a sweaty card, giving Chong the flush draw to go with his two overs, but the {7-Hearts} river granted Lei the double.
